Question about 1997 Acura CL
I need my brake pads off
Bolts and screws extract counter clock wise. as you are looking at the top of the bolt or screw, with the pointy end away from you.
when doing brake work, please be careful since some brake pads still have asbestos in them, breathing brake dust will cause white lung or lung cancer.
there are a lot of steps to replacing brake pads, among other things, before you go to take them off, you probably should have at least two big heavy screw drivers to force the brake pistons apart. you could slip a wood block in the gap too while you are getting the new ones ready to go, but make sure you can get it back out.
if you are new to doing mechanical things (guessing so due to the original question). you should get a Haynes shop manual (it is worth the price) for your vehicle before you do anything, if possible, have an expert work with you the first few times. you don't want to mess up doing brake work since not being able to stop a vehicle could result in death.
hope this helps.

To remove your brake pads on your acura you need to looseen the bolts counterclockwise.

take a pair of pliers and hold the inter side of the guide and turn the bolt. the bolts is only 8mm w x 25mm L. this will allow you to remove the calipers.
