SOURCE: My VW Eurovan,2002 has 2 fault codes. P0011 and

P0011 - Intake camshaft position timing ( over advance bank 1 )
O0420 - catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 1. Hope this was helpful.

You may want to try pushing fordward harder into the park position while turning the key to the off position. The locking cable may need adjustment. If this does not work, try turning the collar just behind the keyswitch counter clockwise while trying to remove the key.Thanks, Dana

Potential Symptoms

Most likely a P0011 DTC will result in one of the following: hard starting, poor idle, and/or stalling. There are potentially other symptoms as well. Of course, when trouble codes are set, the MIL (malfunction indicator lamp, a.k.a. the check engine light) illuminates.
Causes

A P0011 DTC trouble code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • Incorrect camshaft timing
  • Wiring problems (harness/wiring) in intake timing control valve control solenoid system
  • Continuous oil flow to VCT piston chamber
  • Failed timing valve control solenoid (stuck open)
Possible Solutions

This DTC code is a result of a mechanical fault of the VCT unit or related components, so there is no need for electrical diagnosis. Refer to vehicle specific repair manual to perform component tests for the VCT unit. Notes: Dealer techs have advanced tools and the ability to follow detailed troubleshooting steps, including the ability to test components using a scan tool.

code p 0011 refers to camshaft position (CMP) sensor , intake /left/front, bank 1--timing over-advanced/system performance===causes ---valve timing---engine mechanical fault--cmp actuator-wiring
if the engine is running as expected , it would be logical to eliminate mechanical and valve timing fault
buy replacing what you have , it is possible that there is a wiring connection problem that you temporarily fixed by moving the harness around
At this point it indicates problem CMP sensors, so take it to an accredited service specialist that has experience on your make of vehicle and get a diagnosis done and a quote

Those are the int/exh solenoids for V V T. check and test wiring and connections or Replace the int solenoid and your issue will more than likely be solved

Under the air cleaner assembly towards the firewall it is the one on the left with the grey top and when faulty produces code of p0010 it is GM part number 12655 420

What does CarMD Code P0010 refer to on a '09 Chevy HHR LT with a 2.4L engine?


code p0010 refers to camshaft position (CMP) actuator , intake /left /front bank 1 circuit malfunction===causes --wiring---CMP actuator --ECM.
check that all the wiring connections are clean and tight--replace CMP actuator.

Camshaft sensor in 2009 hhr


You should probably take the car to a reliable shop or the dealer for that problem because those codes pertain to the intake and exhaust camshaft position actuator valves - not the sensor itself. It's more than just simply replacing the sensor for that problem.

code p0010 refers to camshaft position(CMP) actuator, intake /left/front bank1--circuit malfunction====causes--wiring--CMP actuator --ECM
I would suggest that you change the CMP actuator to put the light out.
