Question about 2000 Chevrolet Malibu
Checked Haynes repair manual, picture and description do not match car I have, double checked to make sure have correct manual and picture
To replace headlight, on top of headlight assembly , there are 2 plastic slide pins one on each side. pull up on these slide pins to remove headlight assembly. then you can replace the bulbs. when putting back on , push in on headlight assembly and push the pins back down to hold assembly in.

The problem you are mostly having is that you are using a Haynes manual. Get a Chilton, better pictures, and better discriptions. Haynes generalizes way to much for my comfort level. you can usually get one to copy sections from at the library. Also special not most oil change places will do this for you, much more easily than you can. On my car I had to remove the enire air intake box from the car. I have played around with cars my whole life and a job that use to take 10-30 minutes took me a litle over 2 hours. Plus the litle clip that holds your new style balbs in. Study it very carefully even taking pictures of it before you remove it. I thaught I would kill the first person that talked to me while trying to figure that one out.
