SOURCE: How to disconnect Backup alarm ?

try replacing the reverse light bulbs with regular ones. alot of the application have a little speaker built onto the bulb. hope this helps

1994 Mitsubishi pajero.Where does the reverse light feed come from.To operated reverse alarm.Inside vehicle.Have checked vehicles reverse light switch.This is operating.Either there is another switch.

It comes from the transmission range sensor. When you put the lever in reverse the sensor on the transmission relays this to the backup lights.

Ford backup sensor

First, check if the backup lights come on when in reverse.
If so, you can eliminate the switch.
Next up is a fuse, the unit itself, or a loose/disconnected/broken wire.

Rear back up light stays on and alarm donst work

The reverse switch may have gone bad. This switch is located on the side of the transmission and will have several wires coming out of it. I believe your alarm won't work because the car still thinks it's in reverse
