SOURCE: rear window will not close

The latch could be bad. Try latching it with a screwdriver to see if the latch will close at all. If it does it might just need to be adjusted out further.

SOURCE: 2003 Jeep Liberty Limited Glass Latch will not move on own.

Hello and welcome the problem is very simple to resolve first make sure you have battery power turn off vehicle open rear gate unlock doors go to rear gate and look at lock unlock again and push the Grey plastic lock trigger mechanism forward towards front glass close gate unlock again make sure lock is still in the position you just set it to and close glass it will the lock. Normally what happens in this situation was power was removed from your jeep and the rear gate was opened with no power running to electric lock so it stays in a set position you cannot lock the glass because there was no power in the electric lock I will lock once you reset it Hope this help. SOURCE: rear glass (hatch) wont close enough to lock

The latch ring mounted on the body which catches the latch assy. on the door is adjustable.
Usually a strong Phillips will loosen it for adjusting. Be sure to tighten well.

SOURCE: interior lights stay on after car shuts off

there is a timer to turn the dome lights off,it could be faulty or each of the doors have a little black button in the door frame, you can pull the center of the push button out about a 1/16th of an inch, and close the door slowly to reset them.

Mine did this too....the latch kept getting stuck. If you put the key in the ignition and unlock the power doors, pull on the gate door (don't open it, just enough to release the latch), and it should come out so the hatch will latch.

My 2007 Lincoln MXZ drivers door will not shut. It seems the latch is not latching on. Could the latch just be broken?

not an answer but possibly related question. battery runs down quickly (overnite) no, non-factory accessories, door closed so interior lights are NOT on. could electrical problem be related to door not staying latched closed?

My 2007 pontiac torrent interior lights will not turn off?? All doors are closed!

Probably the door light sensor. I fixed on on a Ford F250 on time doing the same thing. It fixed it. It's trial and error to know which one though. Unless you take everyone apart and unplug one at a time. It is behind the door latch on a Ford.

1999 Isuzu Trooper door won't open

those door latches use a very tense spring that engage the closing mechansim. If the handle lifts without any restiction at all,,the sping is missing...if the handle when pulled or lifted offers slight resistance, this means it is very weak and needs replaced. it does not have enough rigidity to release the lock works from the lock pin that is fixed to the inside door facing.

The interior light module is not timing out. The possibility of the interior lights staying on could run your battery down over night. Replace the interior light module.

2002 chevy tahoe gas cap door wont stay closed

Hello Matthew, Check the hinge on the door and the retainer latch button inside of the filler neck area. Sometimes they stick and won't pop out back out to keep the fuel door latched properly. You can lube the hinge & latch with WD40 to free it up. I have seen this happen a few times on a Blazer. Hopefully, this is all you need. I hope this information is helpful.

My rear hatch light indicates that the hatch is open which it is closed tight. Because of this my interior lights stay on and my remote start won't work. How can I fix this? My jeep is the 2009...

The switch on the latch is more then likely stuck. If you can see it spray it with some electrical cleaner and open and shut the hatch a few times.

Rear access open on 2005 Chevy Tahoe

I don't know if this will work, but at least it is worth a try. Spray some WD40 liberally over and into both tailgate latches. Try to get up inside using the straw extension. Open and close multiple times to work it in. I suspect there is an internal latch switch, which controls the display, that might be dirty, corroded, or just not working. Of course other causes are possible. I hope it works.
