  • David Mar 31, 2009

I got the same problem my grand caravan 2002 , some times works and some times don't , unlatch but doesn't open, and it's really hard to slide , I checked if there's something on the track but I can't find anything, and the wierd thing is that once you open the door all the way back, and use the remote or any of the switches it works. It's only the right passenger door that it's acting funny .

Why Can't operate driver window?

The window switch could be bad or the window motor or the window regulator . The same could be wrong with the roof ,switch ,motor no power . Did you go on youtube ,could have videos on how to test ! Check out some basic electrical trouble shooting videos , how to read a wiring diagram too ! Go to free wiring diagrams . Check the diagrams to see what powers everything , see what all is involved in the circuit , fuse's , relay's switches , motors etc... Buy yourself a digital volt ohm meter an test the circuit .

I have an 2003 Acura TL-S. The drivers window will not go up or down. try the new switch and checked the motor both are fine. fuses all check OK. But can't fine the relay to check

Until you get yourself a wiring diagram & change the
way you go about testing electrical circuits-your done

Why a new switch--no testing of the old one?

Checked the motor how-removed the door panel
& put battery voltage directly to --it in both directions?

All the other windows work?

No power to the window switch (need wiring diagrams there)

Wiring going into door not a problem !

I am putting doors on my 1984 ford f150 from a 1985 ford firo which has power windows I need a diagram to wire power to the switches

You don't need a diagram, just power thru the doors at the hinge. Run 2(two) wires, one black and one red, thru an opening at the door hinge, even if you have to make the opening. Go to any fuse in the panel and find which is the hot side by pulling the fuse and test for the hot side. Stick a fuse tap on that side of the fuse and put the fuse back in. Get this fuse tap from any auto parts store. Get a pack of female spade connectors to connect the red wire of the wire size needed. Size 10 will do for this. Get some size 10 straight connectors also. Connect the red wire to the hot wire going to the window motor. Connect the black wire to the ground wire on the motor. now connect the other end of the black wire under the head of a bolt under dash. First in mind though, be sure the fuse you connect the red wire to is switch activated when on and off when switch is off. Power windows are great when you gottem. I plan on doing my Toyota with window power units from an Oldsmobile. It will happen. Breeze on Bro.

Trunk wont unlatch with keyless entry remote or trunk release button on door on 1997 lincoln continental

It sure sounds like a fuse. You can check for proper voltage at the hot wire of the actuator while you try to pop it. I think you are overlooking the fuse. Make sure the actuator has a good ground as well.

I have a 2007 Mercury Mariner. The power windows just stopped working. It seems like a switch or something not the motor since there is no sound at all when the buttons are pushed. The lock buttons work on...

There is a black rubber flex boot between the body an the door ,power and ground wire's for the switch run through it . Opening an closing the door over time can cause the wires to break . Pulling the door inside trim panel to get to the switch wiring connector to test for B+ voltage an ground is the way to test electrical . Looking at a wiring diagram to see what wire is what should be done also. Do power lock's work ?

Window Operation
The window system operates under the control of the accessory delay relay. The smart junction box (SJB) will ground the coil side of the accessory delay relay when the ignition switch is in the ON position. When the accessory delay relay is active, power is supplied to each window control switch. The window control switches direct power and ground to the appropriate power window motor.

If the other windows work ,it's not a fuse problem . Broken wire's ,master switch !

The drivers side window stopped working with the window halfway up. Before we look into replacing (possibly) the motor for the window, is there a relay that might have gone bad? If so, would it be located...

First you check the fuses
Then the switches
Then open up the door panel &
put 12 volts to the motor connnector

If you pull the switches out you can check
voltage at them & you got the fuse, any relays

I personally only work off wiring diagrams
Any other way is just a waste of time & not even
a good guess at what your doing.

My power locks dont work in side my van

check the wiring, connections, curciut braker, fuse link for the door opener on the side is broken, compair the wiring is the same setup on the working side and the non-working side.
something is different on one of the malfunctioning side, remote setting device has the correct wiring setup and the wiring diagram setting are defferent something is making the system to operate wrong or right. just be careful and teaduse, check out the remote switch and remote relay, fuse for relay, relay, find schamatics, look at the wiring remote wiring diagrams, and compair power connection for remote verses the non remote, see if any wires loose, dangling aound, loose, good luck

94 camary Le passenger power window not working

Check for a broken wire, its possible that its a broken wire either a hot wire or ground wire. Check inside the rubber loom that runs between the door an door jam, try wiggling it around wile you try the switch for the window. It might have a wire for the up and one for the down, chk. that loom, thats the door that gets used the most opening and closing a lot could have broken a wire in there. I can't really tell you where to get a diagram other than maybe a web site of the major auto parts stores.
