Question about 2003 Saturn ION
My 03 Saturn Ion 3 learned a new trick to annoy me tonight. The car would not start and had warning messages displaying "service vehicle"; "coolant"; and "pwr steering". I checked the connections to the new battery I just put in a month ago, and everything was still making a connection. Went back in my car and pulled the keys out..when I tried to stick the key back in, I had to force it before it would go into the ignition. The car then started up fine with no warning lights...when I drove it for a minute or two there was a noticeable burning coming from the area of the ignition switch...could something have shorted out? Should I be concerned...or will my saturn be alright?
O this is an old one, but you need ed to get that thing to the dealer or your mechanic as soon as you possibly could. that smell is the wiring insulation melting. Ive had to replace the wiring at and back into the dash to the fuse block from a short to ground. It is a mess, but can be repaired.
