SOURCE: A/T 2-3 Shift Solenoid Circuit Malfunction (4L60E,

Your car has the 4l60e. Are you getting a code? The solenoid could be bad or there could be a wiring problem. I'd take a quick visual inspection of the harness where it enters the transmission. If that looks ok, drop the transmission pan and locate the 2-3 **** solenoid, it's on the rear of the valve body. Check the wiring inside the transmission. If that looks ok I'd go ahead and replace the solenoid. It's held in by one torx head bolt. Remove the bolt, pull out the solenoid and remove the wiring. New one just bolts right in. Those solenoids are pretty cheap from the dealer, should cost you about $20.,

I have a Suzuki Jimny automatic 2007. It has 3 buttons to select gear type. None of these are now working.

Start by looking at the fuse box... check all the fuses. Next possibility is a relay.

The Suzuki Jimny Transmission Control Module (TCM) is an electronic circuit component that controls gear shift, TCC lock-up and idle-up according to the signal from each sensor. It is a microcomputer consisting of an IC, transistor, diode, etc. It is installed behind glove box.

Where is the transmission control solenoid located on a 2005 chevy cavalier 2.2l

Hi Ashley Farmer , my name is Jeff Armer . Which solenoid , your Cavalier has four , Pressure control solenoid , TCC - torque converter clutch solenoid , 1-2 shift solenoid and 2-3 shift control solenoid . And all are located inside the transmission . Do you have a DTC - diagnostic trouble code stored in the PCM - powertrain control module ?

Turbine shaft speed sensor

the 98 can have a 3speed or 4 speed. the latter is electronically shifted.
4doors usually have the 4speed, and the OD lamp and P/S switch.
there is no turbine. tcc?
my guess. the torque converter>? there are like 200 parts in the 3sp.
there are only 3 ways to fix an A/T
(besides troubleshooting it fully !)
1: used tranny. from wreck.
2: have yours rebuilt by , the likes of AAMCO
3: or buy one fully rebuilt.
is your TCC

the cost is 2 fold
1: parts ($2000 for rebuilts are common)
2: labor. $500 (4wd labor is way more that 2wd ) so.....

try servicing the trany and putting in some lucas transmission treatment. sounds like the tcc is sticking and needs some lucas to clean it and lube it up.

Fault codes

DTC P1860 is set if PCM detects a continuous open or short to ground in the TCC PWM solenoid circuit.

If your inclinded to attempt to fix this yourself, I have some trouble shooting proceedures that you can use. They are very involved, and could require the trans oil pan to be removed to get access to the solenoid.

If your not up to that, take it in to get it fixed.

TCC PMW solenoid is used to control fluid flow acting on the converter clutch valve.
The Solenoid controls TCC apply and release.
The Solenoid is attached to the transmission valve body. To get to it you have to remove the tranmission oil pan. Changing it should be no problem.
But do you need to replace it? To determine that you have to figure out if it is the wiring that goes to the solenoid or if the solenoid itself is shot.

The PCM uses the TCC/PWM solenoid to control when the torque converter clutch applies and how soft or harsh the TCC apply feels to the customer. The TCC/PWM also controls the release feel of the torque converter clutch. "

Ignition voltage is supplied directly to the solenoid through a fused circuit. The Powertrain control module commands solenoid on or off by applying or removing the ground.
