Hi, sorry I couldn't take a photo and attach to show you where you should do it but quite easy to find though. Where your left CV enters the gearbox you will find two bolts. The first is directly below the CV and is square of size, you can use a socket extension with out a socket to loosen this bolt...this is to drain the transmission oil.

Directly on the right of the CV is the level thus when filling up, that bolt needs to be undone in order for you to add the correct amount of oil...it will escape this level hole once the oil level is complete.

Directly at the top of your transmission - almost between the starter and engine mounting you will find another bolt, this is where you top up the oil.

Hope this helps, if need more info please feel free to contact me naude.tony@gmail.com

Regards,

Tony.

My transmission fluid in my 06 Grand Prix gxp got to 220 is that bad

That's high, but not terribly so. Transmissions typically run about 180, but on my Silverado the trans temp gauge doesn't show red until 250. Smell the trans fluid, if it doesn't smell burned, it should be ok. If unsure, change the fluid. I don't recommend a power flush, just drain the pan, change filter, measure what was in the pan, add that amount of new fluid and of course, correct why it got that hot in the first place.

How much fluid do we need to fell transmission

It varies by make. Remember most transmission fluid is locked into the torque converter and didn't come out even when you changed the filter. So knowing the capacity isn't helpful. Filling from a filter change usually doesn't take much fluid. Maybe 3-5 quarts. Just add fluid one quart at a time with the engine off. Start the engine with the transmission in neutral and check fluid level. Repeat this process until it reaches the cold full mark. Then start the engine and let it warm to operating temperature. Check the fluid level again, it should now be on the hot mark. If it's not add some more until it is. Remember all checks should be done with the engine running and transmission in neutral but you should only add fluid with the engine off for safety reasons.

Need 2 trans coolers?

It is not really needed to add to the existing but isn't going to hurt a thing. Changing the fluid should be done every 60,000 miles or per your manuals guidelines.

My 96 Cadillac Deville has 51K miles. Is it time to change my filter and fluid. Also should the shop that does it also add any additive that might help.

it's good to change the transmission fluid, but unless it's slipping or hard shifting or hard downshifting, i would wait another 15.000 miles but when you do change the transmission fluid i suggest you add lucas transmission treatment to the fluid change, it frees up sticky valves and does'nt break down as fast as regular fluid does.hope this helps!!!

What is the full capacity for transmission fluid fora 5.7L 2005 chrysler 300

TRANSMISSION FILL
To avoid overfilling transmission after a fluid change or overhaul, perform the following procedure:
  1. Verify that the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
  2. Remove the dipstick tube cap.
  3. Add following initial quantity of Mopar ATF +4, Automatic Transmission Fluid, to the transmission:
    1. If only fluid and filter were changed, add 5.0 L (10.6 pts.) of transmission fluid to transmission.
    2. If the transmission was completely overhauled or the torque converter was replaced or drained, add 7.7 L (16.3 pts.) of transmission fluid to transmission.
  1. Check the transmission fluid and adjust as required

CHANGING THE FLUID

2000 Chev Malibu 3.1 L checking the transmission oil level is a must since there is no dipstick to check the oil level with. The MOTOR oil is hot to change the oil in the motor. Driving the car up on ramps alters the level a bit as does the trans fluid at 200 degrees instead of the recommended 100 degrees. Let the car idle while you slide cardboard, newspaper, a flex socket wrench with a deep 7/16 inch six point socket. Set both the Park at the transmission gear selector and the parking brake, and put blocks behind and in front of the rear tires before you climb underneath the car. Cars roll off of jacks, ramps and whatever enables mechanics to get underneath. Before changing the motor oil while the engine is at a slow idle, using a six point 7/16 wrench turn the plug on the passenger side of the transmission counter clockwise looking down at the top of the bolt/inspection plug. If oil runs out put the plug right back in. If not add about four ounces at a time.
To add fluid, remove the red add fluid cap is on top of the chain/side cover which is underneath the exhaust crossover in front of the air valve. I used a turkey baster with the bulb removed and used a funnel into the baster which I placed into the add fluid hole after removing the red add fluid cap. While it is a better to have one person adding fluid while the other is underneath yelling stop when the fluid starts to run out of the inspection hole, I added 4 oz at a time and may have a slightly overfilled transmission. Although the car is not level, if you have fluid at normal operation temperature, the expansion of the fluid will compensate for the overfill due to the rear of the car being lower than the front.
After removing the motor oil and filter, spray some engine degreaser on the side of the motor and transmission to remove dirt and to make finding future leaks and pinpoint their location.
If you do not have a leak and are not losing transmission fluid the time to check the fluid level adds less than five minutes to your oil change. If you have to remove the fill plug and add fluid after finding or buying Dextron III transmission oil, you may add 15 - 30 minutes to the oil change.
The exhaust crossover pipe is several hundred degrees even at idle. A bright flashlight is helpful to find leaks when lying on the ground underneath the car and oil pans.
