Question about 1998 Chevrolet Corvette
The fuel door release button does not open the door what is the problem so I can fix it.

Most manual fuel release would be in the trunk near the fuel door itself. I would be looking for a removeable panel or a yellow plastic tag that you might be able to pull.

The fuel filler door release is the black button at the front of the center console storage compartment.
If your fuel filler door release won’t operate, there is a manual release tab. The tab is located against the upper trim in the rear compartment on the driver's side.

if it is electric, there should be a manual release near the filler door.
If it is manual, there will not be a back up manual release

A very small J hook can open it although it may be tricky to do for some
