Check engine light after jump starting

You probably just need the ecu resetting, but there could be a need to set up a few more engine management features. Certain systems can loose callibration if power is diconnected for a period of time. Take it to your dealer

I Have a 94 cherokee country with a 56028297 ecu,it has no power at the grey wire at the ecu,it does flash sometimes and I can hear the relay work sometimes. I can bypass the fuel pump relay circuit and...

If you hear relays clicking sometimes and the jeep won't start, at those times, is the check engine light illuminated on the dash, or not? If no check engine light is on the dash, at times when the jeep won't start, your ecu is in need of repairs. The ecu sends power to the ignition and fuel relays and when the ecu starts to malfunction, the relays usually start clicking.

Hold light flashing. what can be the problem? is it safe to drive it like that?

When that light flashes it normally means there is an electrical malfunction in the transmission. The best thing to do is have the codes read. This will require a scan tool, not just a code reader like the parts stores have. The code will lead to the actual problem. I would suggest checking the fluid level to make certain that is not the problem, however, it is likely more then that. Also try resetting the ecu resetting ECU on all foresters : Unhook the battery and touch the positive and negative cables together for 3 minutes. This will clear the capacitors in the ecu. If the light is still flashing there, then have it scanned. At its free to get car scanned./

Mait. required light is on no trouble code detected. How do I reset the light?

Vehicle has reached a mileage where it requires some sort of servicing, such as oil change. Reset the light by pulling off the #13 fuse on the passenger side (check with owner manual just in case). If there is no vehicle malfunction, the light shouldn't come back on. Have in mind, that by pulling the fuse, you will erase all data from the ECU, such as recent malfunctions.

Park brake light flashes 10 times. For 1989 Chevy 1500 pickup. What does this mean?

This truck probably has Rear Wheel Anti-Lock (RWAL) brakes. There is a small black module near master cylinder that is the brain for this system. There are ways to check for diagnostic trouble codes in this system. Once you have any codes set, diagnosis can be fairly simple. PROCEDURE:
Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) 's can be displayed by jumping terminals "A" and "H" of the Data Link Connector and observing the flashing of the "BRAKE" warning light. This should only be done when the brake lamp is "ON".
The terminals must be jumped for about 20 seconds before the code will begin to flash. Count the number of short flashes starting from the long flash. Include the long flash as a count. Sometimes the first count sequence will be short. However, subsequent flashes will be accurate. If there is more than one failure, only the first recognized code will be retained and flashed.

DTC's 6, 9 and 10 will only turn the "BRAKE" lamp on while the fault exists. These are soft codes faults and can only be read with the Tech 1 scan tool.
Do not jump terminals "A" to "H" if the "BRAKE" lamp is not on. Jumping the terminals with the "BRAKE" lamp off will set a false DTC 9. This will turn the "BRAKE" lamp on and disable the antilock system.

How to turn off maintenance req'd warning lights on dash

this light 7407fc2.jpg correct? to troubleshoot this light, the car can be scanned with any OBD2 scanner/code reader. after it has been scanned, the scanner will have an option to erase all codes. once they have been erased the light will go off.

the only other way to make the light go off is to disconnect the battery for 15-30min. this will reset the engine ECU, causing the light to go off but also will erase any codes that may be stored in the EC
    U. if the ecu resets and car is started and detects the same problem the light will come back on.

Check to make sure that the fuel tank cap is on tight.
When the fuel tank cap is loose:
The electronic engine control system warning light comes on as a temporary malfunction.
