if it (THE FILTER) doesn't say "MOTORCRAFT" on it then they changed it, THE FILTER IS LOCATED UNDER THE HOOD TO REAR OF ENGINE ON DRIVERS SIDE.

The fuel pump relay switch, if that is what you are looking for, is actually a red button hidden underneath the hood latch. We just had to do the same thing and that will fix it. Just press the red button and you should be fine.

2 solutions: first, ignition control module is getting hot and shutting car down. 2nd; you didn't mention your dash(service soon) lights were on.<p>
You said the fuel filter was pretty clogged up. It's sounds like a bad case of EGS(ethanol gas syndrome). The ethanol;being a corn deritive;acts like corn liquor(which is what is is), and turns the fuel to goop, and adds large amounts of water through out all the systems.<p>
It clogs up the fuel lines,the injectors, and ruins fuel pumps. It also puts heavy carbon on egr valves, int. and exh. valves, and can ruin oxy sensors, and catalytic converters.<p>
Let's try the cheapest way first:Buy a can of SEAFOAM and Berkline 2+2 at your parts store. Take out the oxy sensor(s) and clean the ends using the 2+2 and re-install.
Then change out the fuel filter again. Pour the SF into a tank of PREMIUM(only) gas. Change the pcv valve. Then start vehicle and let idle for 3-5 min(even if you have to rev it up to do it to get the SF flowing through the system), and then drive it 10 hard miles.<p>
Replace that fuel filter, and then let it idle some more. Your car sounds like it is really messed up bad. Unless you take it to a garage that has a fuel system cleaner machine, this is the best way to do it.<p>
After this, add SF every 3-5000 miles to your tank. It will prevent this from happening again. Also; to be on the safe side. Have a PSI check on your fuel pump. This goop could have burnt it up. I hope this helps.

you will have a vaccume leak on the bottom side of the plentium by your throtle body, it is the left side if sitting in driver seat. it is hard to see but a hose has colapsed and created a vaccume leak. dont know what the hose is called but if i can find it that is what i found today to be my problem today with my car. it's about 3" long elbow about 1" diameter under pletium and goes to a plastic line about 1/2"-3/4" line. i bet that is it though. goodluck

The first thing to check is the ignition timing then the spark plug gaps. There are specific settings/size for the above and must be correct for the car to run smoothly.

I am working on a 94 cutlass ciera.It quit and wouldn't start.Fuel pump fuse was blown.Replaced the fuel pump and filter.The car started and ran everyday for a week.Now the fuse is blowing again.i changed...


sounds like you could have something cloging the line so fuel pump is working to hard. try the filter see if its cloged up,maybe drain the tank and flush the system out.but you could be right with the pump itself going out again rare but could happen.good luck.

It sounds like you might have a clogged catalatic converter on the exhaust system.

The rest of those new plugs would be a good start. Also, did you replace the intake gasket again or just put it together correctly the second time?

get rid of this car sir, its a lemon. With everything you've changed the only thing left is checking parimeters on a scan tool for the senors. But you gotta know what your looking at.
