Question about 1997 Buick LeSabre

Turn signals are messed up

My left turn signal stays on and won't automatically turn off when the turn is completed. And my right turn signal turns off almost immediately when the wheel is turned, so I have to move the lever again so that the signal is on during the turn. What could be causing this and how is it fixed?

SOURCE: Turn signal isn't working.

More than likely you need to replace your turn signal relay located on the fuse panel.

SOURCE: Right turn signal not flashing on 1992 Buick LeSabre

Back in the late 80's early 90's GM's turn signal switch in would get loose afetr some use and one side or the other turnsignals wouldn't flash or only the third bake light worked and/ or you couldn't flip your headlights to high beams and have them stay on without holding the turn signal arm back. Perhaps if turnining the bulb over as Mr. Scary suggested proves fruitless. and you may explore that option. Get an assistant and have him watch your blinkers tailights etc. and turn your blinker on and push the blinker arm firmly toward the dash and see if that resolves your problem.

SOURCE: left turn signal does not turn off after

there is either a short in the 4 way flasher switch or the turn signal switch. Actually quite common in GM vehicles. The switches will need to be replaced. Also replace flashers which are attached to fuse block and make sure all bulbs are new and same age.

Turn signal light right flash

flasher/blinker is busted. this is located under your dash board. remove steering column cover, turn on LEFT turn signal (yes, the one that is working), then you will hear a clicking sound. locate the relay that causes the sound. there you can see 2 relays (one for LEFT, other one for RIGHT turn),replace busted one.

I had the same problem on a 92 & 95 Dakota years ago, replaced the turn signal switch in the column & found a loose ground wire in the harness back by the tail lights. Never had a problem again. If you're gonna try to replace the switch you will need tamper proof torques bits just FYI. Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.

Need to replace left turn signal flasher

This is weird! It seems to me that the left turn signal is getting 12v from somewhere at all times.I don't think the flasher is the problem(most GM systems use a single flasher for left and right)You probably have a crossed wire somewhere(or an add on accessory was connected to the left signal wire, allowing 12 volts to bleed through to the circuit)

Hello! I don't see a connection between the headlight issue and not starting...However I definitely see a connection with the accident and not starting...When you say "not starting" do you mean the starter doesn't crank the engine or it does crank the engine but won't start? Do you have a meter and a wee bit of experience using one? If you do we can isolate this fault together...Send a comment...Guru...Saailer

Turn signal lights not working. turn on emergency flashers and the right signal flashes and bath back lights and the front right flash but the left front don't. any idea's

The 2 filament on the LH Front turn signal is most likely burned out, ...........or the ground to it, & the entire socket needs replaced. Caution lights, send signals to ALL FRONT & REAR lights. All turn signal lights must be in working order, as it is a "pulsating" currect surge sent to the bulbs, LH or RH, depending which direction you wisk to turn. If 1 filament is broken, the circuit is incomplete, & no flash will occur. Usually you will get one light that stays on, & the front or rear missing lighting, is the one whichis the culpret.

you might try checking the bulbs & sockets on the right side, sometimes when a bulb burns out it can cause a short within the bulb eliments causing complete circuit with the running lights whitch is also your dash light circuit, or maybe one of the sockets have the wrong bulb installed, for example a 1056 instead of an 1157 causing a circuit between both connections in the socket.
