Question about 1989 Toyota Corolla 2 Door
I had a major overhaul recently done ... New timing belt - water pump, valve cover gasket - had oil leak replaced hoses, got new sparkplugs. Plus they tore into the car to find oil leaks - they also removed the assembly where the Air Mass contol unit sits and broke the boot. Replaced the boot. My car ran fine before I had the shop worked on it .. Obviously they don't know squat about supras.. I start the car and the idle speed revves up 10 1700 - 1800 rpm without me stepping on the accelerator .. I wonder if they messed up the idle speed controller. Need help with instructions on how to diagnose problem.
Mass Air Flow sensor OK? right by boot. Check for clogs and dirt on pins

I have the same car and the same problem. I can see the oil shooting out at the (upside down) rear, right side of the oil pan. This side of the oil pan is covered by a piece of plastic foam. There are no bolts on this side of the pan. Toyota recommends grey Formagaskit to seal the pan. The natural flow for this leak is all over the bell housing. The piece of plastic foam is attached to bell housing inspection cover. Good Luck!!!

i would first check the timing and if that does not fit i would take the cover back off and look at the belt for a bad or missing tooth

check to see if there is any carbon on the throttle body where the butterfly contacts it. also clean the " business end" of the idle air valve to make sure it's not being held open slightly.

starter isnt engaging, if you know where the starter is, tap on it with a hammer
1 person crank it over while the other person taps on it - its on the back of the engine
