It sounds like it is a linkage issue between the lock cylinder and the ignition switch. The ignition switch is located on the steering column and there is usually a rod that connects the lock to the switch. These switches have some adjustment, so you should be able to loosen the bolts and move the switch up the column. Just remove the panels below the steering column and look for a bunch of wires plugged in towards the bottom of the steering column.

That might help but it does come with the one touch integrated start system so all you have to do is turn the key once let it go in the car will keep starting until the engine turns over and starts up but this is my first time owning one too so it could be the ignition switch itself from the knowledge that I know have in been talking to Othermechanics. or it can just be as simple as reprogramming the key which Avenue leadership in Pennsylvania cost $80 and takes up to 4 hours to reprogram

Try another key. the one you use has lost sync. Mine worked when I tried my extra key.

SOURCE: electricall problem w/2002 V6 mazda tribute

When that light comes on, it is indicating charging system problem which could mean alternator not charging for one reason or another like loose belt, faulty alternator, or yes, bad battery or connection at battery, for example. First & easiest thing to do is check all your connections to battery, which you've probably done, and make sure they're tight & clean. Make sure belt driving alternator is good & tight, and in good shape. Now boost the vehicle to get it going & test voltage at battery, after you take cables off. My guess is in your case, the voltage will begin to go down, indicating a bad alternator, that will need to be replaced.

SOURCE: 2001 MAZDA TRIBUTE COLD STARTING PROBLEM

My wifes car had this same problem at about 100000 miles and after many trips to the shop it turned out to be carbor build up in the intake manifold. A fuel injector cleaner was hooked up and it helped the problem, but did not completely solve it. In oreder to get it totally clean the intake had to be removed and clean it out manually.

I have a 2008 Mazda tribute when I put the key in and turn it it lights up as normal but when I turn it to crank it nothing happens... In the pass I would put the key in while turning it and it would crank...

It could be any of several things. I would start out with some basic testing. Battery good? If yes, then ignition switch. When you turn the key, it makes a connection from the key switch to the solenoid. Check with a test light at the switch and at the solenoid (on top of the starter). If no light at the started, try running a wire from the battery to the solenoid. Does it click/turn over? If no, then maybe starter. .

It's rather like a chain. If all the links are good, then it will start. If any of the links are broken, then it won't. Sometimes a "click" can help you identify where that chain is broken.

Possible causes are the starter, starter solenoid, battery, battery cables, neutral safety switch, and ignition switch.
The starter is mounted on the engine where the engine and transmission connect.
A mechanic would check the small wire on the solenoid for voltage when you turn the key to start.

2008 mazda tribute abs and all wheel problem when you start the vehicle all lights are out after computer check but drive 1 km abs lights and all wheel lights comes back on

That's telling us that the abs is passing the self check when you turn on the key. When th e light comes on after you start moving it usually means that a sensor is not sending a single or a signal is messed up. A scan tool will tell you wich wheel to focus on. It is fairly common for the exciter rings on the front drive axles to break and cause this code. It wouldn't hurt to inspect these for crackps or misalignment. I had a similar problem with my 2001 Tribute. I changed the spark plugs and the problem went away. I had about 160K miles on the original spark plugs.
