I have a 92 Ford Explorer, and there is no exhaust coming out of my muffler. I can put my hand in front of it,and there is nothing coming out. I was told that I can take a hammer, and hit the muffler. And get what ever is clogging it out. Is that possible, or a good idea? I am not sure if someone put something in my muffler. And that is why its doing this. So I was wandering if that is a poss. Can you let me know.

That I'm not sure about yet. Do me a favor and pull the trany dipstick and put your nose really close to the fluid on the stick and see if it smells burnt.and is the fluid red or brown.

98 lincoln navigator loud noise, shaking, high rpm at idle, drive

I don't know how much oil you had to put in but it sounds like you have maybe more than opne issue and both sound major. One is engine reving and speed not picking up sounds like trans problem. Two the engine shaking and making noise and being run low on oil leans toward possible engine damage. If your mechanicly inclined check all fluids and when checking trans fluid smell it. If it smells burnt the trans has been damaged. Check oil pressure and make sure coolant is full. You may have to take it into the shop.

Why does my 1994 Saturn SL1 battery light come on ?

Re-test your charging system...a used alternator is just that...depending upon how worn it was when you bought it, it can fail at any time. Also make sure all your connections to ground and hot wires are clean and secure. Your engine control systems operate by reading small changes in current from various sensors if voltage going to the system is low, it throws the entire system off and can cause odd problems.
