SOURCE: my 94 taurus wont accelerate and it sounds like a lawn mower

very well could be the head gasket. The 3.0 v-6 VIN U (8th digit in the vehicle identification number is a U) had a problem with head gaskets blowing. Typically when they blow the heads crack and need replaced. the repair is VERY EASY to do, i suggest buying th haynes manual and getting started. check the heads and good luck.

It started this morning: When I accelerate, my car sounds like a muffled lawn mower. I noticed it over the car radio this morning, which is what tipped me off. Car was loud all day when excellerating, and...

most likely exhaust leak, they were popular for the egr tube to leak, you can hear more under the hood vs standing beside the car, tube can be purchased from dealership, but to note, most exhaust places inspect for free to give a more accurate estimate, but yes sounds like exhaust

good luck

I have a 2000 vw jetta vr6 gls 2.8 and it sounds like it is misfiring but the check engine lights is not on. When I accelerate it sounds like im driving a lawn mower. What could it be?

The check eng light does not always come on when theres an issue. Take it and have it scanned anyway, I bet there is a code stored, Also ask them to check Pending codes. Pending codes are what the computer has noticed a possible concern and is watching That system, Pending codes can be saviours when diagnosing a hard to find issue

2004 Kia V6 Optima has loud noise when accelerating and decelerating - sounds like lawn mower

G'day mate , sounds like exhaust hiting , posible causes are from the front to back , boken / deteriorated engine mounts allowing engine to move about , exhaust shields ( thin plate moulded to exhaust shape and bolted on ) rattling about , finally exhaust mounts themselves are they in good order if not the exhaust will hit and bang . hope this helps
