Where is the water pump located on a 99 wagon? is there a diagram anywhere?

It is located behind the timing cover and run by the timing belt. This will be a major job to do. You will want your mechanic to do this job. When you change the pump, make sure you change the timing belt. hope this helps

Changed timing belt on my 99 ford escort zx2 car no

if you have a no spark scenario i would check your crank sensor located at the top left side of the harmonic balance pulley.the crankshaft (about 11'oclock) a 2 wire plug with a sensor on it check to see if it is damaged or unsecured. this sensor can cause no spark if not working correctly. This sensor is based of frequency not voltage testing is difficult, just make sure that there isnt too muck air gap. and that it is secured.Lastly may want to check timing possible that the belt has jumped some teeth and she has fallen out of timing. maybe a bad tensioner The coil will adapt i think up to 10 degree, ****** or advance. Good luck

Looking for the access plug for the TDC pin on a 1999 escort zx2, for timing belt installation

Follow the links below for my timing how-to. The pins for finding TDC seem to be made to different lenghs. You may or may not have a correct length pin. I suggest you use the method in my how-to for finding TDC. FYI, the timing pin hole is located in the side of the block (facing the front of the car) behind the catalytic convertor.

My escort van is out of timing need to set timing again

YOU NEED TWO 6MM DRILL BITS, THERE ARE TWO HOLES TO PUT THESE IN, ONE ON THE CAMSHAFT AND THE SECOND ON THE PUMP. SLOWLY TURN THE ENGINE BY HAND UNTIL THE TWO HOLES LINE UP WITH HOLES BEHIND THEM, THEN PLUG WITH THE DRILL BITS. ITS NOW SAFE TO REMOVE THE BELT BY TAKING OFF THE TENSIONER AND LOCKING OFF. PUT ON THE NEW BELT AND RELEASE THE TENSIONER SLOWLY AND REMOVE THE DRILL BITS. TURN THE ENGINE BY THE NUT ON THE CRANK SHAFT A COUPLE OF TIMES. THEN PULL BACK THE TENSIONER ALL THE WAY, THEN LET IT GO SO IT SNAPS AGAINST THE BELT, IT IS NOW TENSIONED AND JOB DONE
