If you have the ALDL connector it will be under the dash on the drivers side. I am not so sure VW used this connection. If you do have it though you can jump out the 2 terminals on the right upper side of the connector to pull up trouble codes. Count the check engine light flashes for the codes.  flash----flashflash is 12 and flashflash------flashflashflash is 23 watch it close so you don't miss a flash!!!

SOURCE: my 1994 engine light is on. where can I buy a code

If the light that is on shows a picture of your engine you need coolant. If it says CHECK ENGINE try a certified MB Mechanic who has his own shop. Code eader can be pricey.
After all it is a Mercedes Benz!

HOW TO GET MY 1994 JETTA OBD1 CONNECTOR TO READ FAULT CODE

Ok, there may be 2 issues here. 1, are you sure your vehicle uses the OBD1 and not OBD2? 2, Ebay sells specific OBD connectors for certain "special" vehicles that handle the OBD codes different than normal. Like the Ford Focus. As an example.

1994 cutlass ciera s stops running after 20 minutes of driving.

The jumper goes into A & B, usually the top right two terminals. But check, in those years, GM was transitioning over to OBD-II, and they had some hybrid connectors that didn't match OBD-1 connectors. Leave it to GM for oddballing.

Where is the OBD 2 ECU plug on a 1994 Honda Civic Ex

should be located about 1" from the end of the dash, on the passenger's side. It's a 2P connector, which you jump with a paper clip, and is up under the edge of the dash. The Data Link Connector (3P) and the Service Check Connector (2P) are both housed in a protective rubber mount. Carefully, pry the Service Check Connector free.

Jump the connector, turn the ignition ON, and count the number of long and short flashes, if any, of the Check Engine Light. Yes, you have an OBD-I emission control system. good-day ! 96 on up vehicles are OBD-II,

My 92 Aerostar suddenly quit. The ignition spark checks OK but there appears to be no fuel flow as I have removed the fuel line at the filter and cranked the engine looking for fuel pumping in to a bucket...

Use the DLC you are OBD 1 go to the diagnostic connector with key on ground the circuit (with you looking at the DLC the narrow tip up on the left side with key on ground it the fump will turn on) then check to see if fuel flows if you hear it and no fuel I know this sounds rude is there gas in it. Hit the tank does it sound empty I am only saying this cause the gauge may not be reading right. Well if you have fuel and fuel pump sound you pump has failed

Where is the *** port on this truck

Ok, in 1994 the connector was called an ALDL connector it doesnt look like an OBD 1 or OBD 2 system connector. It should be have two screws securing it to the bottom of the dash, but it has been my experince that most times they are never put back in their proper place after work has been under the dash so reach up under and feel around. The connector you are looking for will be about 1.5 inches long and 3/8 inches wide it will have two rows of 6 openings. Hope this helps good luck on your hunt.

1994 acural legend: ABS light stays on but the brakes are good,

You can take it to the dealer or buy a scan tool for about the same money, you have the older emission system called OBD 1, the parts stores that offer free tests only do the model year 1996 & up OBD 2 sytems which use a generic diagnsotic test connector, until 96 every car line had it's own test port, make sure u get a scan tool that fits Honda/Acura test connector for your OBD 1 system.
