Basically all of them can examples bad map sensor messes up fuel mixture--some of the evap system same ---most of the sensors that are not for warning of breakage or breakdown/overheating--fan relays--oil press etc all are program sensors that the vehicles computer uses to regulate the fuel/air mixture and advance timing for the vehicle

What are the probable causes of DTC P0051, bank 1 sensor 2?

code p 0051 refers to heated oxygen (HO2S) sensor 1 bank 2, heater control ---circuit low===causes --wiring short to ground --HO2S--ECM
it will affect the engine economy and performance but there is no connection to a transmission problem
I would be looking for a loose vacuum hose to the transmission actuator/ actuator fault, that affects a gear change at certain throttle position settings

Air flow intake sensor location

It may but there are other sensors that will affect the idle performance.. Run fault codes first. Check the condition of the PCV valve and the EGR valve.

Code p0330 knock sensor does this affect the way it shifts if engine light is on

Possible but unlikely. Code p0330 refers to knock sensor(KS) 2 bank 2-circuit malfunction==causes --wiring --KS--ECM. Replace the KS. The engine light is telling you that there is a problem with sensors in the ECM and that is what will be affecting the performance . Shifting is the area of the TCM( transmission control module ) so have that checked out as well

Can the 02 sensor in a 2000 s type affect performance of the alternator

No, The battery can or the drive belt can, or the alternator may be failing. The condition of the bat. cables (how much corrosion) are they really, really clean? But I Have never seen an O2 sensor affect the charging sys. Two different worlds, ALT.= high volts/big AMPS O2= low volts micro amps.

Does the speed sensor being bad make the engine run rough?

Yes the speed sensor could affect the cruise control, no it would not have any affect on the engine performance.

How engine performance is affected by bad o2 sensor po138

Hey, The o2 sensor affects the fine tuning of the engine. it is used to tell how well the engine is burning off the fuel in the combustion process. if there is too much oxygen, then it will adjust the air/fuel mixture accordingly and vice versa. If the car runs too lean or to rich you will loose power and possibly damage your engine. It would be a good idea to replace if its faulty.

Can an adjustment be made to a map sensor to affect car performance?

Don't think you can adjust it. Performance would drop , not go up.

My 91 4runner idels at 1300 for days at a time turn the car off around 800 to 1000 turn the car back on back to 1300/// 97%of the time at 1300

When was the timing belt last changed? Check vacuum lines going to airflow sensor box near radiator on left side top. The smaller one affects airflow sensor readings. If it is cracked it will affect performance and idle speed.

Auto rain sensor: inconsistant performance, dont respond to sudden heavy rain, sensitivity control not seeming to work: Ford focus 2.0 Ghia D 2006 model. Light rain performance ok. The sensor seems to be...

these sensors are a new thing just a few years out. they are still working out all the bugs, also you can try having the sensor replaced, if its glued to the window to much glue can affect preformance.

I have a Honda Accord 2003, how can i fix a downstraem Oxygen sensor.. does this affect the gas cosumtion performance.. how can i fix this.. Help.!

o2 sensor is very important part to the engine when it come to the fuel economy. o2 sensor send information to the computer (ECU) which compute and calculate ratio of burnt exhaust gases. if the engine is not run properly either is too lean or too rich the o2 sensor will detect it as the car will triger the check engine light. you can drive the vehicle which will not hurt it as long you can tolerated the light however the car will get terrible gas mileage and poor performance as the ECU will try to lean the engine out itself. o2 sensor is fairly cheap to replace and fix. Let assume the car get 30 mpg on the high way, running with check engine light/bad o2 sensor will change the gas mileage to 18-25 mpg. If the car is V6 make sure you replace o2 on both side. good luck!
