How do you lock the doors when you are in the car

In the manual there should be a description on how to set the car door lock. You can chose between don't lock when driving, lock when starting to drive and unlock only driver door when unlocking. Your car dealer can help you with this minor information in case it is not in the manual. There should be a also a button in the car for locking and unlocking from the inside on the dashboard top right.

The doors lock when put my key in the ignition and start the car. I do not want this to happen. I have the car set to lock when I put it in drive but it still locks when I start it. What can I do to change...

In the owners manual there is a section dealing with customer selection options for the power door locks. Auto door locks can be set to off or can be set to work when the car is started or when put into gear or when achieving 9 mph. There are options for auto features for unlocking the doors also.

Doors lock and unlocking in gear

Sounds like a short in the lock switch or in one of the doors. Eliminate each one step by step by unplugging each unit one at a time and see if the problem goes away. Start with the lock button that you push to lock and unlock the doors from the inside. This switch tends to get a lot of soda and coffee spilled on it and it shorts out.

from the abbreviated words ya are using i am gonna assume the door is not being seen as closed to the fem module, so assuming the door is open it will unlock the door to keep ya from locking key in car. does dash show the door is ajar?, if so may need a new door ajar switch or agjusted striker.... any more info on the concern could help you diag, but please use word as apposed to YOUR abbreviations..... may be relocking while driving because the drive away feature of auto locking after the 7mph signal reached

1990 dodge dynasty 3.3 engine starts fine but a second later dies changed gas filter and fuel pump and regulator still don't stay started.

Same thing happened to my '89 Dynasty. Turns out the security system was engaged and this stops the motor from running; therefore. a thief cannot drive away with the car! The system is set by using the power locks or an autolock fob, but not by locking manually. Disconnecting the battery will also engage the security system. To disengage, close the driver or passenger (front) door and turn the key in the lock.
