Key will not turn in door lock

The battery went dead on my 2004 TT & I am not able to manually open the doors with the key. The key goes in the lock but won't turn.

I guess my question should have been, how do I get into the car to be able to charge or replace the battery? If it is the door module, are they known to go bad even if the door has never been locked or unlocked with the key? The car has 35,000 miles on it & I have never used the key. Is it possible for the lock to just be froze?

I would try to spray penetrating oil into the key hole and work the key in and out a few times. The cylinders don't get used very often so it is probably stuck.

If you have an owners manual look at the menu controls on the car computer. You should have choices for the alarm and doorlocks, how long lights stay on, traction control, chimes, bells,etc.. A kindly Audi dealer will probably help you.

Sounds like you are having problems with your built-in alarm system. Like most systems in your Audi, you can read the error codes stored in the controllers. It takes a tool normally only a dealer has (VW or Audi) or an adapter like the VAG Com. (Google it)

I also think you can disable the alarm system and just use the key.

Could the lock button on your remote be stuck? Use a different key/remote. (leaving the suspect key at home.) The keys/remotes can be taken apart....

Key problem, I don't have a spare key and the key is not opening the door. The opening button on the key is very dead, please help me

First, the key"fob" has a battery inside. Any parts store should be able to help you replace it. Second, you should be able to insert the key into the door lock to manually unlock door. If car's battery is dead, most doors will let you insert the key and turn as far as it goes, Then operate the door handle and turn the key a bit more to unlock it.

replace batteries in remote & charge battery on car, you will need to "Break" into your car you can do this by wedging the door from the top back corner & using a wire coat hanger to activate the door locking mechanism on the inside, once open, unlock all doors manually then remove battery for recharging,

Key won't turn, won't shift from Park

My 2003 Saturn l200 2.2 ecotec did this when the battery was dead. Put some juice on the battery, then the car came out of park, and I was able to remove the key. To the car, there's a vast difference between a sluggish battery and a dead battery. It may have enough amps to crank it, but it wont start w/out full output from the battery.

charger on the starter battery cable terminal

Won't open my door when I press unlock, key won't open door either

can you manually unlock the lock and open the door?? Is it more than one door or just one specific door? If its just one door, yourcactuator inside the door may be bad or you have a wire issue. If its all the doors, more than likely you blew a fuse or a relay(id say fuse)
