Well, there are transm. fluid cooling lines in that area, down kind of low on the car, running from the transmission to the fluid tank or reservoir on the radiator. And when the engine is running, the transmission pump is running, so the lines would be pushing fluid. One is a line bringing fluid to the radiator, and the other is a return line. If one of these lines broke, it will need replacing. You will have to find the leak and see what's up.

SOURCE: can't find the spout to pour transmission fluid into Ford Taurus

You need a funnel to add trans fluid to the dipstick tube where u check the trans fluid level. Let me know if u need more help, Add fluid w/ engine running, shift car thru all gears to circulate fluid. Don't overfill, it's bad for the trans.

SOURCE: No motor manual what type of transmission fluid is recommended

Check with chevy a dealership service (phone call) , there are 2 different types if your car is an automatic. If your car is a standard , it could be gear lube , or even Automatic trans fluid.

SOURCE: car dumped fluid on driveway and now won't go into gear or move

The fluid is most likely hydraulic fluid from the slave cylinder,I would like to be able to say that's the only problem but the problem you describe indicates that something is wrong in the clutch also. You say kinda like it's stuck in gear, can you describe this better for me?

SOURCE: Transmission Fluid

THERE IS NO DIPSTICK, THERE IS A RED CAP BELOW THE AIR TUBE BETWEEN THE AIR BOX AND THE THROTTLE BODY. UNSCREW IT AND THAT IS WHERE YOU PUT THE FLUID IN. TO CHECK THE FLUID YO NEED TO GET UNDER THE CAR WHILE IT IS ON A LEVEL SURFACE AND REMOVE THE 11MM PLUG (THAT IS JUST UNDER THE PASSENGER SIDE CV AXLE) WHILE THE CAR IS IDLING. FLUID SHOULD DRIBBLE OUT, NOT GUSH OUT.

My trans fluid poured out

Determine where the fluid is coming from. Start with checking the transmission lines going to the front of the vehicle. There should be 2 that connect to a transmission cooler or to the radiator, typically on the passenger side. If one of these started leaking it may have sprayed transmission fluid onto your engine, causing the smoke.

May it be that fluid spilled the exhaust manifold (smoke produced)? How is the fluid level?

Add transmission fluid

unlike the oil, where you pour it in a bigger hole. The transmission fluid goes in the dip stick hole. (hard to believe but true) get a small funnel and stick it where the dipstick goes. picture shows how to find the dipstick hole from by looking at the side of your engine toward the back you will find it. 9k=

2 things it could be. 1) the dipstick housing has come loos or 2) the front seal is faulty.

I cannot find the transmission dipstick

TRANSMISSION DONT HAVE DIP STICK,YOU HAVE A CHECK PLUG LOCATED UNDER TRANSMISSION NEAR THE PAN ADJACENT TO THE ENGINE OIL DRAIN PLUG.CHECK PLUG IS A METRIC 11M OR 12M METRIC BOLT.TO CHECK FLUID CAR HAS TO BE LEVEL AND ENGINE RUNNING.WHEN YOU REMOVE CHECK PLUG, IF FLUID POUR OUT YOU HAVE TOO MUCH TRANSMISSION FLUID IN TRANSMISSION, IF FLUID SLOW DRIP YOU HAVE ENOUGH FLUID IN TRANSMISSION, IF NO FLUID DONT DRIP OUT WHEN CHECK PLUG REMOVED,ADD A PINT OF TRANSMISSION FLUID AT A TIME.YOU POUR FLUID AT TOP OF TRANSMISSION UNDER THE HOOD,YOU WILL SEE A RED VENT FILL CAP, REMOVE CAP, YOU NEED A VERY LONG FUNNEL TO POUR TRANSMISSION FLUID IN THE TRANSMISSION. IF YOU HAVE TRANSMISSION SHIFTING OR SLIPPING PROBLEMS,MOST TIME TRANSMISSION DUE FOR FILTER AND FLUID CHANGE IF YOU AT THE 60000 MILES TO 120000 MILES TIME FOR FLUID AND FILTER CHANGE.

How to check manual transmission fluid level on 2005 chevy aveo

oh the side of your transmission, above the halfway point, there will be a plug that you can open. (don't open the plug on the bottom of the transmission as that's the drain plug). When you open the plug, some fluid should leak out meaning it's at the right level. If nothing leaks out, pour some fluid in until it starts to run out and then replace the plug.

How do you put transmission fluid in a 1997 honda passport

If you have a dipstick for the transmission fluid, you can pour it in very slowly through there.
Otherwise, on the upper side of your transmission, there will be a plug that you pull off and fill the fluid up until it just starts to spill out before you close the plug
