You're not talking about a roll pin,are you? You take a roll pin punch and drive them out with impact from a hammer usually.
A cotter pin has an eye on one end. don-ohio (:^)

Trailblazer rear axle removal

It is pretty easy. just unbolt the rear cover of the diff there is a cross pin that holds your spider gears in(located in the center of your carrier). Remove the the small bolt that holds this cross pin in and slide the pin out. Then you can slide your axle shaft inboard to remove the c-clip(after you remove the tire and brake drum). Once the c-clip is off just slide the axle shaft right out of the axle. Pry out the old seal and pop in the new one. Recommend using a 2x4 or such to install the new seal evenly.

I have done engine overhall for my mazda 6 2003.i want to know how set timing and the timing marks?

there are special tools pin to lock crank in correct position and cams have flat plate that goes across into both at rear of cams small section goes up from memory, the cam gears have no dowel pin/locating pin to camshaft you do bolts up last when all are locked in position and grenade pin (locking)pin in tensioner is removed and chain is tight then hold cams with shifter or spanner(wrench) on cam flats and do up cam gear to camshaft bolts on each cam.
hole in front cover just above crank pulley at 11O clock, blind blanking plug must be removed to put in chain tensioner pin, crank blanking plug on your left side when looking at crank pulley(side of block) remove and locking pin goes into there when at TDC no1. and cams should be in position to lock with plate as described above.may not be any timming marks on chains or gears due to the locking tools needed and relied on for correct position.
good luck if you feel confident.
some Mazda dealerships may lend tools if you ask nicely or know some one.

How to change rear wheel bearing on 2003 ford explorer 4x4

Remove all the bolts on rear differential except the 2 on the sides. Loosen the 2 remaining bolts 1/2 way and pry cover loose to drain gear grease, about 3 quarts. Once the cover is off , you will see the ring gear, and 2 small gears. The axle shaft is located insde those gears, but this is the tricky part. There is a silver pin, A little larger than your thumb,{you may have to turn
the ring gear to see] that goes from the top of the carrier through to the bottom[about 6 inches long].. There is a small bolt on one end[5/16 head] that needs to be removed before the silver pin will slide out.. Be careful not to turn axle or carrier once the pin is removed or you will turn gears out of the housing. As long as the pin is in you will be OK.Once the pin is
all the way out, push axle in to the center and "C" keeper will fall off. then carefully slide axle out. The "C" keeper holds the axle out and the silver pin keeps the axle in position. Push the axle ,after repair, all the way in and reinstall the "C" keeper, then just push axle back to reinstall silver pin

I need to remove the front axle out of the differential on a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500? What is the best way to pull it out. I already have the half shaft taken off I just cant get the solid axle out of the...

when removing the front axle i believe that you must open the front differential cover and inside the dana you will see a small 8mm bolt located on the spider gear center it holds the pin bar in place and the pin bar holds both the upper and lower gears in place with a small washer below them. be careful when you pull the pin bar out to make sure the gears stay in place (upper and lower) do not let the washer fall out of the spider cage assembly. Then, carefully slide the U pin that holds the axle in (there are two of them one for the left axle and one for the right). Once the U pin slides off the axle the axle should slide all the way out of the whole differential - Note if the U pin you see at the end of the axle does not come off easy just push the axle IN ward towards the center of the differential and then slide it out with a small screw driver ..

How to remove rear axle 03 chevy silverado

You will have to remove the rear end plate off of the back of the rear end. Then turn the carrier untill you see a big silver pin that goes through the spider gears. Those will be 4 small gears in the rear end carrier. If you look at the right side of the carrier were the pin goes through it you will see a small bolt head, That bolt goes through the carrier and holds the pin in place. Remove that bolt then reach up in the rear end housing and push the pin towards you untill it comes out. ( DO NOT TURN ANYTHING AFTER YOU REMOVE THE PIN) are the spider gears will fall out.

Now get someone to push the axel in while you are looking at the 4 small gears in the housing, when they push the axel in a C-clip will fall off the end of the axel and into the rear end, You will see it fall out. Then just pull the axel out.

When you put the axel back in, push it all the way in then slide the c-clip over the end of the axel and then pull out on axel and that will hold the clip in place untill you put the big long pin back in the carrier. I hope you understand, just watch what you are doing. GOOD LUCK.
