SOURCE: Suzuki swift Headlight problem

Have you checked to see if this is a wiring problem or maybe a relay problem?

Recently my lights would work on side lights and not anything else and this was down to dodgy wiring and needed a new relay unit.

SOURCE: I am driving to spain soon, can I adjust the main

Unfortunately you cannot. The beam pattern itself is different. On left hand drive cars, the actual beam is designed to throw the least amount of light into oncoming cars and will look something like this.
_________
________/

you can't change the pattern as the housing unit itself is what depicts the pattern projected.

SOURCE: Repalcing the main beam headlight bulb on the 2004 Lexus ES 330

The bulb is held in place by a wire capture that hooks under a small metal hook on bottom of housing. The rubber shroud or boot needs to be pulled off first to expose the bulb and intermittent socket that actually holds the bulb. To remove the bulb push the wire capture (the end that is looped) toward the front of the car and then to the side to disengage the wire from the small hook, be sure to note the position of the plastic socket that the bulb plugs into as it only fits one way.Notice the tab on the bulb base faces up. The bulb does not fit snugly in the headlight socket, it is held in place entirely by the wire catch.

On my Peugeot 306 xltd my dip/dim lights have stopped working how can I fix this

Either the dip/dim switch is faulty or the high beam filaments in the headlamp bulbs are shot. Can you still flash the headlamps? If yes then it shows that the bulbs are OK.

My peugeot 307 '53 reg, has really bad lights when on dip.

the reflectors and/or the lenses are poor. if the lamps look frosted on the lenses? i think they are plastic then they get tiny chips and can reduce the light output. polish them with a mild abrasive like tcut or brasso till they look like glass again other than that you may have a electrical problem

Headlight bulbs - put a multimeter on the battery when the car has been running for a while and is still running. If its about 14.8V then the alternator may be cooking the bulbs. Also make sure that you are fitting branded high quality bulbs as the cheap imports last only tens of hours. If they are H4 bulbs, which I think they are, make sure that your dipped beam is going off when the high beam come on, as if they are both on for prolonged periods, the bulbs overheat and the elemtns break down very quickly. It can be indicative of the stalk not turning the dipped beam off.

Gitting gti lights

The wiring is different, if your Golf had headlights with H4 bulbs then changing to high beam turns dip off. The GTi has separate dip and high lights, on high beam dip stays on (all 4 bulbs on).
