2 possible problems your having: 1 you may need to check the fuse box first, for fuel pump fuse: 2nd you may need to replace fuel pump altogether. the older the car the more common the repairs.

My friend has 98 Tahoe. The fuel pump kicks on when u turn key on and also when u turn it off... Why would it come back on after turning key off

If there is a relay powering the fuel pump when you turn on the ignition, it is possible that when you turn off the ignition the relay stays closed and the pump is still running after you remove the key from the ignition.

Car dies while driving

When this situation occurs, turn the ignition ON. You should hear the fuel pump, pump up to pressurize the system. If not, then look for a poor connection on the fuel pump and fuel pump ground wires. If you turn the ignition ON and the instrument panel lights, etc do not come ON, this points to a loose connection in the ignition circuit - maybe a faulty ignition switch.

When you turn the ignition switch on what sends 12 volt power to fuel pump fuse on 86 gmc s15 2.8

The pump relay powers the pump for 3 seconds, then again after oil pressure comes up above 5psi.

The dash gauges all work , fuel pumps are both good , the fuel pumps wont come on and the truck trys to fire when i turn the ignition on but wont , could this be a fuel regulator

did you check the fuel pressure pump on the frame rail for power and ground? have you verified no ignition spark to the spark plugs? have you checked for fire from the coil to the distributor cap? does the check engine light come on when you turn the key on? have you check for injector pulse and power at the fuel injectors? if the fuel pump won't come on and you have no ignition fire and no injector pulse, all of these systems are triggered by the ECM.

Will not start lack of fuel

The most common problems and easiest to detect are
blocked fuel line (unlikely)
blocked fuel filter (probable)
fuel pump not working (probable)
To check the fuel pump you will need to disconnect the fuel line from the motor and turn the ignition on for a brief period to see if any fuel comes out (get some one to help turn the ignition on as you watch the fuel line). If no fuel comes out check the fuses.
If the fuses are fine you may need a new fuel pump.
fuel filters are not expensive and should be replaced regularly
Good luck i hope this helps.

I put a new fuel pump in my 1998 pontiac transport with the 3.4 motor and it still wont start. it has spark and cranks over but wont start

remove the fuel line from the fuel rail and turn the ignition on, if the pump is working there should be fuel coming from the hose, if there is none go back to the fuel filter and remove the inlet hose from the fuel filter and turn the ignition on, if fuel comes out from there your fuel filter is blocked, if there is no fuel your pump is not working

No fuel getting to throttle body / installed new fuel pump and filter / gas is in line but will not come out when turned over

are you geting power to the fuel pump?? On some vehicles the electric fuel pump primes when the ignition is switched on to acc (i.e when all the dash lights come on etc) and on other vehicles the fuel pump doesnt start untill you turn the ignition over to the "start" position. Id check the fuel pump was acutally getting power and go from there

1993 jimmy 4.3 liter wont prime the injectors before statring....if i spray carb cleaner into the intake, it will start and run fine.

I would first change the fuel filter could be clogged over time.
When you first turn the key in the ignition switch. Listen for the fuel pump in the tank should be turning on. You may have to get under the car and listen to the fuel pump coming on when some one else turns the key. The fuel pump should turn on a few seconds before trying to start. IF the fuel pump is coming on. The fuel pump itself is not holding the pressure anymore after sitting a while.
I would take to a local shop to check it out if the fuel filter does not work.
