When you turn the radio all the way up to max volume does the amp turn off ? you could have a short or a blowen speaker which is making the amp go into protection mode. i would disconnect all speakers then try one speaker by itself and see if you have full sound again... go through this process untill the sound stops again.

Radio speakers only give off very high frequency low vol. sound.

Keeping it as simple as possible, sounds to me like there is a fault in the wire itself, test the radio by using different speakers and wire.
There is also a fuse or 2 behind the radio (built in) and they sometimes blow, the sporadic working speaker can be a symptom of a slow-blow fuse going. Hope this helps..

Radio or speakers don't work

Betting that you've got a wiring issue on the back of the radio. Pull the stereo & check your connections. Somewhere the speaker wires came loose.

2005 Dodge Durango. Amp Shortage?? suspect water leak in area of amp. Now no sound at all. No radio, navigation system, cd player, sattelite radio

many of these 04-06 durangos have a leak problem at the top of the windshield on passenger side which leads to water getting into the passenger kickpanel where the amplifier is located. I had my windshield replaced for a crack and there was rust forming behind the top passenger side of windshield...( same with the rear hatch above the passenger side of the chrome molding that covers the handle. My radio went on and off depending on when it rained. Now it doesn't work at all. I plan to check for fuses related to the amp tonight to decipher whether the fuse just blew or that the amp was fried from the water.

Radio quit working when I hooked up a portable compressor lighter

The radio uses a five amp fuse, maybe 7.5 amp. pull them and look at them you tell they are blown

2004 honda accord, lights went out on the radio and somd on the dash. how do you fix it? and what could have cuased the problem

Mine went out as well, it's the Radio itself. Need to replace it or fix it. I got mine fixed at Honda dealership, Radio supplied by Honda, and I paid $99 for labor.

No sound on radio

The actual problem may be with the radio itself in the preamp circuit or the cabling from the radio to the amp. Since you are getting output from the Sub, that means the amp has power and so does the radio. However, the standard audio line is usually seperate since the selection of speakers is controlled from the radio itself and the sub is constant except for volume

Gas tank won't open, trunk won't open, radio stopped working, left tail lamp won't work

It's the body control module. It's located under the dash to the left of the steering column. I had same problem, went to the junk yard and bought one and the problem went away. Dealer wants $600.00-700.00 for the BCM, I paid $30.00

My radio on my 2003 9-3 saab does not power up

ok- i just fixed my problem. took about 5 mins and zero dollars. underneath the drivers seat is the amplifier. mine was fine, just unplugged. so i plugged it in- all is ok/.

i thought of this after I read a few of the posts, and remembered that it stopped working suddenly ne day when i went over a huge bump in the road. my initial thought was that i jarred something loose on the radio itself, but EVERYTHING else worked except the sound, and the display for the radio.

give it a try. Saab wanted $159 just to LOOK at the car, and a car radio guy said they needed to send out the whole console (radio, onstar, cd player)

save a few bucks- small hands preferred, as the amp is placed in an awkward position under the seat. also, there is a spot to secure it to the frame (floor) of the car- a simple screw... my screw was conveniently missing... hmmmm..

good luck
