Question about Cars & Trucks

Open Question

Hi. I have a Beko DW450. After refilling the salt the cap was accidentally left off and all the dirty water has accumulated in the salt water container in the bottom of the machine. I put the cap on and kept running it but when going to refill the salt again, dirty and very smelly water is still in the container. Anyone have any ideas how to flush this through. Should I just leave the cap off and run they machine empty a few times? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

How to flush a raidiator

Remove the radiator from the vehicle and run water from a hose through it. You can also partially fill it, block of the two hose spouts and replace the cap, then shake it for a while, swishing water throughout the core and then let the water drain. Repeat until the water becomes clearer. With the radiator out of the car, you can also run the hose into the top coolant hose inlet and flush the engine core. This is done with the thermostat removed. After completion rebuild the system, replace the thermostat and cap as a matter of precaution, as well as any relevant hoses and refill with de-mineralized water and anti-freeze.

You mean you need to drain the old water and refill w/new water..?
-Drain plug is in the Btm of the radiator.
-Filler cap is on top of radiator. Just push down the cap and turn Left to

Just a guess but I think their diagnosis was that the head and head gasket was not leaking and not a source of the bubbles you spoke of.
Usually when the head or head gasket is leaking, a unusual amount of water will will be expelled from the tail pipe.

Steering is hard when turning......Doesn't make any certain sound.

Hi dyegnud,

This is a common problem. You are most likely out of 'power steering fluid', which should actually be checked, changed/refilled during every car-checkup (at least every 4-6 months). Also check whether you have a leak where that fluid should be. I recommend buying your own from a gas station and have the workers there refill it for you!

Hope this helps!

Where is the freon refill located at in the ford 2000 expedition?

hi, the freon refill point you are looking for is on the accumulator. but you can't see it cause it's buried by the heater hoses, battery cables, and firewall mounted fuseblock. remove the fuse block cover, and get a bright flashlight, look just below the fuse block and you will see the cylindrical accumulator(aluminum canister looking) and the low side pressure port with the plastic cap on it.

After it rains water is in trunk Nissan Altima

When diagnosing a water leak, here's a handy tip. Check the accumulated water. If the water is dirty, look for leaks from the underside of the vehicle (floor, wheelwells, etc). If the accumulated water is clean, look for leaks from the topside of the vehicle (trunk seal, window seal, etc). To find where the water is coming from, shut yourself in the trunk with a flashlight and have an assistant run water over the trunk with a garden hose. You may have to remove some of the interior trunk trim to see exactly were the water is coming from, but chances are you'll find it. Also another common cause of water leaks are from impact damage, so check for collision damage repair. while your in there. -hope this helps.

How to replace the radiator fluid

- Make sure the engine is cold and not running.
- Drain the radiator fluid by opening the drain plug at the bottom of the radiator or for a better/faster drainage and cleaning, carefully remove the bottom radiator hose by first loosening the hose clamp.
- Open the radiator cap and water rinse/flush the radiator core via a garden water hose until you no longer see any dirty water coming out of the bottom hose (or drain plug).
- Flush the radiator over flow (plastic) container by overfilling it with your garden water hose.
- remove garden water hose, carefully refit the bottom radiator hose, tighten the bottom radaitior hose clamp, refit/tighten the radiator drain plug.
- refill the radiator with approved radiator fluid for your climate and also refill the radiator overfow tank to the indicated level..
- Refit radiator cap
- Start your engine until it warms up and check for any water or steam leaks. Refit and or replace any faulty hoses or radiator (regulator) cap!
It is not difficult and have fun!

Where do I hook the R-134 freon up to charge the system? I can't find the valve to hook up the freon, where is it located

Follow the large tube/hose coming out of the dash to a large aluminum canister that then has a hose or tube that goes to the compressor. It is probably located on the side of that canister (the accumulator) under a little blue screw on cap.. WEAR EYE PROTECTION AND GLOVES WHILE HANDLING REFRIGERANT!
