You can adjust this yourself if you have the tools, but maybe it's best that you bring it to an auto body shop, collision repair center
(they are more experienced with parts alignment)
and have them adjust it for you.

Trunk access from back seat

Some vehicles have drop down rear seat, should be a button or pull strap to release. Others do not have the option, and would require removal of the lower seat and seat back by removing bolts.

How can I get my 1998 Ford Taurus trunk to stay up on its own

If it has trunk lid supports they may need to be replaced. If it uses a torsion bar under the back window it may be bent.

My trunk will not close on my 1998 mercedes E320 what can i do?

check the latch if it is good, then on each side on of the trunk there are black rubber knobs one on each side(looks sorta like the candy Rollos) they screw in and out, screw them down and see if it will close. Tim

The trunk lid on my 2000 Avalon vxi seems to be out of alignment (slightly) is this easy to fix? It closes and locks ok, but seems to be sitting high when it's closed

If the lid is too high, the latch / keeper needs adjusting downward -- loosen, move it down, retighten, test -- repeat until proper adjustment is achieved.

My trunk will not close

There is a possibility that the remote latch cable is stuck (lubrication is gone) . With a screwdriver, NOT the fingers, try to return manually the latch, to its open position (instead of the pull open position). If you push it too far, it will go into locked position, and when you pull down the trunk lid, it wont reach its normal closed position. In that case, pull the latch back open, with the remote lever. Should you manage to close the trunk properly, spray some WD40 or some lubricant on the latch assembly.

Switch trunk lids and keeping my orig. lock

If you took the trunk lid off another car and put it on your car, you are going to have to adjust the lock (the part on the inside of the trunk lid) or striker plate or loop (the part on the lower part of the trunk that the lock latches around). no two cars will have the same adjustment of the trunk even though the parts are the same. There should be bolts or screws that you can loosen (not remove) that will allow you to move the lock or striker plate/loop. If you take lipstick and put it on one side of the trunk lock and close the trunk before you loosen the bolts or screws, you might get an idea about how to adjust the parts to make them meet up in proper alignment.

Good Luck
