Question about 1996 Honda Odyssey

Battery died. Now electronics don't work

Our battery died, and now not the back-up camera, GPS, or PIN etc work. Any way that we can fix this without going to dealer? We are tech savvy, but not car savvy

If those items were dealer installed instead of factory, there may be a separate fuse servicing those accessories and it could be installed in series with a 12 volt lead under the dashboard and not part of the standard fuse box. Fuses do fail from metal fatigue and it's possible a surge from a fresh battery took one out.

2000 cirrus want change gears goes in drive and reverse inside on the dash where it tells you what gear you in all has squares around them speedometer doesn't work

Sounds like a speed sensor, I will look into that, but if the speedometer isn't working, its either cable, or electronic. Being a 2000, I'm guessing electronic. Chrysler have a lot of electronics on the transmission, as they are electronic themselves. I had an alternator go bad and my battery died, and the car wouldn't shift, it actually down shifted while driving. Have your battery and alternator checked first, then sensors. Like shift silinoid, speed sensor etc.

Battery keeps dieing even after changing it twice.jump starts no problem.airbag light stays on aswell.

1st thing to check is where the ground battery wire attaches to the frame of the car - sometimes they get loose and don't make a good connection anymore (if so, just tighten it). You could also look for obvious problems with both battery wires (insulation worn off etc).

On my Civic, the airbag light will go on after the battery is taken out (or dies), and it has to be reset manually. It's easy to do, but at a dealer they'll charge $50-$100 for it. I have no idea if a Ford Fusion is the same way though, so you could check some car forums or just shell out at a dealer where you can be sure they'll fix it.

Power locks does not work properly, dome light wont come on, radio code needed everytime i start my car.

When these problems usually occur, your battery is so weak your car won't start. Check your battery, the connections to the battery (anything loose, etc.). Don't forget to disconnect the ground (-) wire first if you decide to removed the battery connections and re-install the ground wire last to prevent risks of shorting the (+) pole of the battery to the chassis if you do it the other way around.

Did the car show any signs of a charging problem (alternator circuit, etc.) ? If not, I would suspect the battery, I've seen it before and yes they can be good, and "die" just like that without showing any signs of fading before failing.

Hope this helps.

1996 Cavalier 12 Volt power outlet in car doesn't work right?

Even thought the plug in is 12 volt. It's ouput is different. Most electronics have different ranges from 3-9 volts.
Does the 12 volt charger put out 12 volts? If so, it would burn up the electronics' capacitors on their power supplies.
How is the car's electronics doing? Are they too failing? If so, that would be a faulty voltage regulator, if not, I would hook up anything you use to the radio wires.
You cannot plug in anything directly to battery no matter what the person told you. Batteries charge, than release charge, a contiuous cycle. The power output is speratic and anything hooked straight up to the battery will need a fuse.

GPS has lost it's memory, adress book and recent trips

if the gps relies on the main battery for memory, that is why it is gone.the battery died
they should have a separate back up like a computer has a battery inside to retain the bios information and clock settings.
you should have a small secondary battery like a motorcycle battery,in parallel with the main battery isolated by a diode.

2007 yukon xl battery dead recharged battery will not start no security light no gages work when you turn the key on. try to start the engine nothing happen like the security system shut down. can you...

We had the same issue with our 2007 Yukon Denali XL. Died on us twice after sitting for short periods of time; once we watched a DVD with the engine off and battery died within 10 minutes. The dealership kept it overnight to troubleshoot why the battery died so quickly. They said the radio was "pulling" too much from the battery. (They supposably fixed it) But again a few days later the battery died again after sitting overnight. We brought it back to the dealership and they brought in a GMC "expert" to replace the entire DVD/CD/Navigation system. They also replaced our battery with a much larger battery, similar to the ones that GMC puts in there diesel trucks. They had our Denali for 5 days, but it appears to be fixed now.
Getting it fixed correctly wasn't without headaches, but it was all covered under warranty, including the battery. And they are updating the nav w/ the new edition disc as well for no charge.

Loss in fuel pressure

Need a new battery first, or charge the battery...if the battery is over 3 years old, I would just replace it, also may need a higher output alternator with more amps, to run the electronic fuel injection, fuel pump, and ignition etc...
