SOURCE: check engine light after every oil change 2005 Honda

This happens because the oil filter needs to be free of air. When the oil pressure sensor drops below a certain value it shuts off the injectors because the PCM. This is a good feature because if you run out of oil for any reason it should stop the engine before damage occurs.

SOURCE: reset maintenance light

If I remember correctly, on the dash you have a select button. Hold the button down then turn the key on, until the maintenance light blinks and goes out. Turn the key off then back on and your light should be out.

SOURCE: oil filter in civic 97

If you go to a reputable motor factor,
you can only be sold the correct filter for the civic.
As there are soo many variables in engine type, it's almost impossible to tell, oil volume, or which type filter.
However, I will say, be sure that you don't mix semi-synthetic oil, and mineral oil.
Oil changes should be undertaken every 30,000 miles, (unless under extra work load, (in which case, slightly more regularly))

Otherwise, 10/40 or 15/40 grade oil, is perfectly fine.
The trick to not overfilling the oil, is simply just to take your time, clean the dip stick and retry, until you have the correct reading.

I have a 2005 honda civic and the maintenance light came on, is that an oil change indicator ?

No, it's not for the oil change. Get a automotive electrician to connect to the car's computer to see what error it will return to know what needs a fix.

I have Honda CIVIC,2005 And I like to know I keep the maintenance of this car

Honda is a reliable car but you still have to observe a few things to keep it running in top shape. Make sure that engine oil is replaced regularly. The interval in which oil is replaced is based on the type and oil manufacturer spec. Coolant should always be checked and fluid levels for motor oil, brakes, power steering, ATF for automatic and clutch for manual should never be allowed to get to a low level.
