Question about 2002 Kia Sedona
When i first bought the van used the power steering when i first started it up was was a little stiff till it warmed up. After the years it got worse to the point even at high RPM s and the engine was warmed up it didn't get easier to steer it got to the point like i had no power steering . Plus the fluid level was at the proper level . How can i test my power steering pump to see if its bad . And please is there any thing else that you can tell me how to check .

Ck the PS fluid for a burnt smell. If so, flush the system & replace the pump. U also have to make sure your tires, chassis (alignment) , rack & pinion ( if equipped) are in good order too. Ck the PS fluid w the vehicle running. & if u flush it, make sure its full when done by cking it running.

It might be a failing power steering rack as well...classic symptoms are very stiff when first starting vehicle or at a stoplight, then loosens up as rpms increase.
