SOURCE: head bolts torque settings

According to my haynes manual for G-S reg, 1989-1998 it goes as follows,
Stage 1:- Tighten all bolts by hand until bolt heads just contact cyl. head.
Stage 2:-Tighten all bolts to 40Nm or 30lb ft.
Stage 3:-Angle tighten all bolts a further 60 degrees.
Stage 4:-Angle tighten all bolts again a further 60 degrees.
Stage 5:- M12 x 140mm bolts ONLY angle tighten a further 20 degrees.
Hope this helps everyone, sorry it seems longwinded but that is how it's written in the manual.

cylinder head bolt torque

52-55 ft lbs. cold engine
59-63 ft lbs. hot engine

connecting rod cap nut 26-28 ft lbs. SOHC
connecting rod cap nut 23-26 ft lbs. DOHC

main caps 41-44 ft lbs.

Hi, we are re assembling my Toyota tazz 1.3 2001 engine, can I please have torque settings for everything


Head gasket Torque sequence
36 pounds then to 49 pounds then an additional 90 degrees. You should get new head bolts though because this style of bolt can stretch causing the head gasket to leak. See tightening pattern

head bolts are usually torqued in three stages. i believe the settings for yours are three stages of 25ftlbs. this means the first stage wll be 25ftlbs, the second 50ftlbs, and the third 75ftlbs. torque all head bolts in every stage.

Internationl 345 v8 torque settings


Head bolt torque: 90-100 ft lbs., to be reached in 3 equal tightening steps, below is the sequence:
9 3 1 6 8
Front of vehicle
7 5 2 4 10

Main bearing cap torque: 75-85 ft lbs.
Rod bearing cap torque: 45-55 ft lbs.
