Hi

Yes you need to replace what is called the Fan Viscous Coupling Unit.

Then swap over the fan blades.

Quite straightforward.

Good luck !

WHAT IS THE COOLING FAN CODE 9 FAULT ON A 1986 CADDILAC SEVILLE

if it is not EFI there will be no fault codes
if the fan is on the water pump then it will be a viscous fan (clutch ) hub and needs to be replaced.

I have replaced theromstat, water pump and waterpump pulley and car gagr goes into the red in about 10 mins. i did find the radiator fan switch line broken wire broken, Help

fan clutch isn't spinning the fan to pull air to cool car. replace fan clutch assembly. that fan alone should keep the car in the mid zone. electric auxillary is for A/C and overheating only.

My axles slip out the rear differential on my 1986 bmw 325es

If axles are slipping out the c-clip on the axle tips (end that goes inside differential) is badly worn. Replace these and your problem should go away.

I need instructions to install a clutch fan on 1987 bmw

The fan/clutch assy has left hand thread. Loosen by turning clockwise.

Remove radiator top shroud & air cleaner assy. to gain access.
Remove engine cooling fan by holding the belt drive pulley with a suitable flat bar tool (that fits over the top of the drive pulley attachment bolts), then using a suitable flat spanner to unscrew the fan clutch assy (clockwise). When re-fitting, tighten clutch nut to 30 ftlb.
You may need to use a bit of ingenuity in making the flat bar holding tool, unless you are able to procure the BMW tool #11.5.030.
Good luck
