The starter on my 1998 Honda Odyssey is not working. It quit

In -31* . I have charged up my battery and it is now fine, but I don't seem to be getting any thing out of my starter not even clicks. It,s either jammed or has failed totally. Is there anything on-line that has instuctions on removing the starter or to trouble shoot.

Welcome to Fixya! Yes, This is the Starter and the Starter Solinoid. You can Purchase a New starter that has the New Solinoid on it already. The starter is not hard to change out. Just remove the 3 or 4 Bolts and it will drop with a little pulling. Reinstall the Same way. Disconnect the Battery BEFORE you start or you will get a JOLT! The Starter is on the Bottom of the Motor, Which side depends on the Motor that You have. Just look.

Have someone attempt to start the car while you smack the starter with a hammer... if it starts... replace the starter as it is failing

My 2006 honda odyssey touring won't start again green key comes on goes off I get 1 snap then nothing. Honda dealer found nothing battery fine

I had this problem... The Starter itself had a short circuit (not the solenoid. It it were the solenoid, you would not get the "snap" you mentioned.). To get to the starter I had to take out the battery and the battery platform. It seems like a lot of work, but un the end it was easier than expected. I did the job in the parking lot of a Home Depot.

2012 honda odyssey wont start after a month of not driving it. Seems to have power, it does not seem to be a starter/Batt issue; what can it be?

Have the battery fully charged just to make sure.
Let me know if there are any noises, clicks, ticks, or any sounds on a re-attempt.

My 2000 Honda Odyssey EX has intermittent start problems. At least once a week it will not start without being jumped with a portable jumping system; sometimes turning the key to ignition for about 30...

Probably when the dealer is testing it is fine because the problem is intermittent. There may be a dead spot in the starter so when it hits that spot it acts up but other times its not on that spot its fine. Replace your starter and you will probably get rid of the problem.

All gauges went dead while driving, lights progressively dimmed and finally engine quit.

Your alternator died. You drove until your battery died also. You need a new alternator and a new battery. You might be able to get away with just charging your battery. Do Not jump start the vehicle and let the new alternator try to charge the old battery! Take the battery to a service station for testing and a charge. Install the new alternator and then install the charged battery not vice versa and you'll be fine.

Engine turns over fine , car will not start.

well the first part of your question i was all ready to tell you to put a new fuel pump in, now not so sure, there is a relay for fuel pump, can you hear pump cycle and relay click? relay under hood you will have to listen close they don't run long maybe a couple secounds, if you don't relay bad. if you do pump could be bad, do fuel pressure test pump could be weak. don't think sunroof and turn signals are related, but stranger things have happend.
