SOURCE: Leaking fluid in my 1999 Chevy Malibu

When they changed the water pump and the leak stopped then the water pump was bad. If they changed the water pump and was still leaking then then it was not the water pump.
Where is the fluid leaking from, if there is white smoke coming from the tail pipe then good chance is that the head gasket is gone and pull the dip stick out to see if there is antifreeze mixxing with the engine oil.
It's common that the 3.4 V6 has intake manifold gasket go bad and leak. Check all the heater hose first, and try to find out where the leak is coming from.
Good luck and keep me posted, glad to help you as much as i can.

My 79 ford courier is leaking oil badly when it hasnt been driving and parked for days

Here is what you must do, pressure wash the engine and the transmission top and especially bottom of all grease and oil residue then install a bottle of special die that glows under a black light, drive the truck for a 10 or so miles and then put it on a car lift and check for the source of the leak with a black light. On this old of an engine the leak are likely all over the place.

05 malibu leaking oil from rear of engine

This may be from excessive pressure in the sump from blow-by from the compression process . It is from a blocked PCV valve that is not equalising that pressure. I have also known oil leaks to happen because the rear main bearing cap is leaking oil past the join around the bolts (loose) or no sealing compound used in assembling the rear main bearing.. I would look at the PCV valve as it is the cheapest test first.. Check that the oil is not coming from the front gear box seal or torque converter seal.

Leaking oil tahoe

The rear seal of the engine could have started to leak but a loose oil pan or damaged oil filter could be a factor.

2005 chevy malibu leaking oil from engine, we can see where its comming from but not sure what the part is called. Its above the oil pan. Seems to be a steady leak when engine has been running for a little...

its called an oil filter housing adapter gasket, very common problem for it to leak it gets disturbed from the torque applied every time you change the oil filter just not a well thought design it will appear that your oil filter is leaking however it is the 10 dollar gasket on the adapter that gave in

Ok I have a 2005 tribute and I always run

This car has a catalytic converter, you can't see the smoke of the burned oil with it, it's cleaned. The oil could get in the plugs cavity only if there's a leak at the valve cover. My guess is that the oil seeps out only when there's pressure - the engine is running. To find where it leaks clean your engine thoroughly the start the engine in your driveway for an hour - where the oil will leak you clearly see it. In that case replace the corresponding seal.

I have a 1999 chevy malibu that has a coolant leak. The leak seem to be coming from underneath the fan belt end of the motor. As soon as I put water in the coolant jug it leaks on the ground.

Check the lower radiator hoses for a leak and the lower part of the radiator itself for a leak. Also, check your engine oil level and make sure you don't have water in your engine oil. If you do, you have most likely lost one of the timing chain guides and the chain has worn a hole in the front cover of the engine or the block has cracked. Another possible problem location could be the water pump leaking at the forward seal.
