I need to know the bolt pattern for my 2001 dodge ram 5.2L water pump .I know there are diferent sized bolts but i dont where they go

It can be tough keeping them all straight in order. The bolt that needs the 47 star socket goes on top just to the right of the hose behind the pump. I can't tell you all their lengths but they should all be the same thread and bolt size. Just try them with the pump held in place before you put any sealant on the gasket. Each should have at least a half an inch of so of length sticking out for tightening purposes.
I write on the heads with permanent marker as I take them out going clockwise. Just remember where number one goes and the rest follow in order.

It pays to clean off the threads with a wire brush. Some of them get pretty grungy.

I took off the old water pump and now I can't remember which bolts go where. Some are short and some are long. I need a diagram that shows the bolts and where they go. There are 7

Try installing the short bolts first. If they won't start or only screw in a few threads, then that hole is probably for a longer bolt.

How do i remove the fan from the water pump on my 1997 dodge dakota?

Use a long screwdriver to pry between 2 of the bolts while you loosen another bolt with a box-end wrench. Don't take any bolts out until you have them all loose. Does this make sense?

Dodge 2000 minivan,water pump leaking

Make sure it's cool, pop the radiator cap, Remove the shield on the passenger side between the tire and front of engine. Relieve the tension on the serp belt,draw yourself a diagram of the pulleys and belt routing in case the sticker is gone on the strut tower, remove the serp belt. Take the bolts out of the pulley on the front of the water pump (3). Remove the lower radiator hose at the front cover to drain the coolant. Remove the 6 mm bolts holding the water pump to the front cover housing. tap on the pump with a rubber hammer. Install a new gasket on the new pump, and a weap hole diverter in the pump (round black about hte size of a quarter), use old one if there's no new one. Install pupm and tighten bolts snug with a 1/4" ratchet. Install pulley and 3 bolts. Install belt, top off radiator with 50/50 mix green coolant. start engine and run to operating temperature,make sure the belt is seated in all of the pulleys and is running true, radiator fans should come on. Shut engine down and let cool overnight. Check level in radiator and overflow bottle, top off as necessary.

How do you change the water pump on a 1997 Dodge Dakota 6cyl 3.9liter w/ air?

1. Drain the cooling system.
2. Remove or disconnect the following:
* Negative battery cable
* Fan and clutch assembly from the pump
* Fan shroud and fan assembly.
* If you're reusing the fan clutch, keep it upright to avoid silicone fluid loss!
* Lower hose
* Water pump (8 bolts)
3. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the bolts, in sequence, to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm).

The fan blade is loose & wobbles on the shaft on my dodge dakota

Fix it now or forever pick up the pieces...You have one of two problems possibly both...The fan clutch that the fan is bolted to has a bad bearing. replace it Or, the bearing in the water pump has failed. again...replace it. If fan clutch failed carefully check pump ...shaft bearing can be damaged by wobbling assembly. Seriously...don't ignore this if fan gets loose,it will damage far more than the problem you now have!!!
good luck!!

How to replace water pump on 1995 dodge dakato 5.2 liter V8

When I do those I find it's easier to get some of the stuff out of the way. Fan shroud, Alternator, AC compressor(don't remove AC hoses just swing it over to the side) and the AC/alternator mount bracket. If you don't have the special hose clamp plyers they are worth buying. (those clamps are difficult with regular plyers) The fan clutch has a special wrench which is thinner. When you start the job break loose the fan clutch before you remove the belt. It keeps tension on the pulley. The nut is normal threading and usually comes loose with a sharp rap of the hammer on the fan clutch wrench.
Here is an illustration of the water pump bolts. I hope this helps you out. let me know how it goes.6f7219e.gif
