With a new battery and alternator there is little left as to why the battery is not charging. assuming you have connected uo the wires to the alternator correctly, having cleaned the battery terminals back to shiny metal and fitted the correct drive belt (most important) With the belt correctly tensioned the top of the belt should be level with the top of the edges of the pulleys. If it it is not then the belt will not drive the alternator fast enough to charge the battery

Alltornator will not charge the battery

Someone will need to check the circuits from the alternator to the battery and the computer. The computer controls the voltage regulator built into the alternator.

I have a 2000 Grand AM, both door locks or broke, Battary down. I need to know how can I Charge the battary so that the remote can open the door.

you can still pop the hood open by sliding a screwdriver over to the release and then you can get to the battery normally, or you could try to reach the charge clamps up ftom under the driverside tire it is a bit more sifficult and may rewuire you ro remove the shroud from the wheel well so see if you can open the hood first.

With the engine running are you getting any voltage off the alternator? check with a multimeter. Check voltage at battery while running should be 13 volts or more.

Flat batary

Do you drive it everyday? Does it have any extra stuff on it like alarm system, anti-theft device? Get one of those floaty ball things that check the specific gravity of your battery acid. One dead cell is a dead battery. They will tell you a lot. And just because a battery is new doesn't mean it is good. I have seen a lot of good batteries dead! Also, check the water in the battery. also, check the alternator, it can't be charging. The light on? Something is killing your battery. If it isn't being drained, it isn't being charged up either. The clock can kill a battery in a few days. Check this stuff out. Hope it helps.

Two weeks ago, when I went to Acura deller for oil change, they sugested me change the battery, since I never got a problem for start, so i did not change the battary. But next day I can not start my car,...

First make sure the terminal and posts are clean and greased.

Then make sure the alternator belt is tight.

The type of battery makes no difference as long as it fits.

What matters is whether or not the alternator is putting out 13.5 volts or higher, in order to keep the battery at 12.5 volts. Put a voltmeter on the battery and rev the engine.

A 3 year old battery is on the cusp of being at the end of its life. You must first test battery strength ( voltage ) and then the alternator output for proper voltage.
