Question about 1990 Ford Bronco
This just started it was only when i went from reverse to drive and today it started making the clunk while i was driving so i came home (i was only a block away) and now I amafraid to drive it
Sounds like you have a universal joint issue.(the joints that attach the drive shaft at the transmission and the rear axle.) You are right in not driving it as the drive shaft could fall out. However if this noise just started to occur you should be able to drive it a short distance to a mechanic and save the tow cost. I personally have driven (although carefully) for several weeks before i was able to change a universal joint. There are also some other possibilities of things it could be so I would suggest you take it to a trusted pro to have it diagnosed.
hope this helps!
