SOURCE: My 2006 Malibu steering wheel is going bad.

The power steering is electric on that car. It has a electric motor on the column, and a control module. There are several causes that could be the problem. You need to have it scanned to get a better idea of what to do. If you can give me the codes you get then I will be glad to advise you on what's best. Good Luck

Horn is stuck on 2004 chevy malibu

There is one wire that attaches diirectly to horn that can be removed to stop horn. There is a fuse in fusebox that may also be removed. There are screws in the backside of steering wheel to remove front of steering wheel cover and inspect horn contact for damage or corrosion. If removing steering cover, use care to disconnect airbag actuator to prevent airbag inflation.

1997 nisan xe p/u horn honks by itself... mostly when making turns

Step by step:
1. Your problem is in your steering wheel horn assembly.
2. If you have airbags I recommend finding which fuse controls them and remove them (SRS fuse), but before doing so make sure the steering wheel is perfectly straight. Disconnect the battery one or both sides. Wait ten to 15 minutes if you have an airbag to start working on the vehicle.
3. Make sure you wear an anti static wrist band, and or discharge your self on some metal before working with the air bag.
4. There should be screws on the back of the steering wheel to remove the center portion, remove and unplug not to forget where you unplugged what.
5. remove the center nut that holds the steering wheel on, use a steering wheel puller to remove the steering wheel, unless your he-man and can pull it off your self.
6. remove the horn assembly and replace with all new parts, every single piece of the horn assembly you must replace.
7. Reverse the removal procedure and work backwards.
8. Last, reconnect battery and fuses and if you have an airbag stand back while doing so in case airbag decides to discharge.
Hope this helps! Good luck !

2004 Chevy Classic. I have never had a problem like this before. I drove my car in the morning, but when I got off work, my key would not turn. My ignition is locked, but my steering wheel is not. I have...

IF YOU HAVE AIRBAGS IN UR STEERING WHEEL, UR GONNA HAVE TO TAKE IT TO UR DEALER FOR SAFETY SAKE. AIRBAGS USE A SMALL EXPLOSIVE TO MAKE THEM DEPLOY. IF THE STEERING WHEEL DOESN'T HAVE AIRBAG, UR IN LUCK. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL WITH A PULLER. THERE SHOULD BE SOMETHING RESEMBLING A "STAR" WHEEL. THERE IS A DETENT THAT GOES INTO ONE OF THE "STAR" LOBES. MAYBE THE DETENT IS STUCK AND A LITTLE LUBE WILL FREE IT UP. OR MAYBE YOU WILL NEED TO LINE UP THE "STAR" WITH THE DETENT.

Remove me Steering wheel bmw 1999 e46 3 series

Disconnect negative battery cable. Locate airbag retentions on back of steering wheel. Unbolt or unclip retention devices, and release airbag. Then: Unplug airbag electrical connector. Remove nut or bolt in center of steering wheel with pneumatic impact wrench if necessary . Using appropriate steering wheel removal tool kit, carefully remove steering wheel, paying attention to associated wires, etc. Unplug anything not accompanying wheel, or that is in the way. Pay close attention to any rods, or contact pieces associated with the horn button(s.) Replace these upon reinstall. Reverse order to install including tightening center bolt to 35-55 ft-lbs. If this is your first stg wheel removal, try an old chevy, preferrably someone else's! If inexperienced, don't risk bruising your favorite Bimmer!!! Hope this helps you make your decision.
