SOURCE: limp mode?

It may have a "loss of prime" code that usually follows a service of the fluid and filter. After you're sure the fluid is full at operating temperature, disconnect the battery for a few minutes and reconnect to see if the code resets. I hope this helps.

ETC light came on and limp mode now, 2010 Dodge Caliber....just cleaned the throttle ck engine light on and still in limp mode...what can I do?

When you cleaned the throttle body chance you damaged the sensor. Take it to autozone or similar and have computer scanned for codes. The code will give you a starting point. Remember the code only gives the components that are having trouble but the problem could be somewhere else in the circuit

How do I reset check engine light and get car out of limp mode on a 2003 Dodge

You have it check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes , do the diagnostic's replace the part , fix the wiring , what ever is broken . The light will go out . If you have to ask that , your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .

93 Honda accord 5 speed stuck in limp mode please help me fix this issue also can u tell me what goes in this housing on the tranny

Have you checked for trouble codes? 1990-'95 Hondas are On Board Diagnostics-first generation, or OBD-1, and the trouble code retrieval is do-it-yourself easy. The two digit codes flash out on the check engine light. Here is how to do it, and a description of each code:

Sorry but I can't make out what that picture shows.

Gl on limp mode

have the fault codes read to check for reason it is in limp mode. Fix any faults found and use the scanner to reset the ECM program as the dead battery may have corrupted the program

2004 dodge dakota in limp mode wont go past 2000 rpm P2305 code comes on check engine light comes on can reset code but light stays on and wont go past 2000 rpm

Since you didn't say what engine you have, I am assuming it to be a 3.7 L. Code P2305 is set for insufficient ionization of the #2 coil. 1. Inspect the spark plugs for correct application, these should have NGK platinum spark plugs installed. Inspect the plugs for any signs of misfiring, such as carbon tracking on the spark plug insulator or the coil boot. Inspect for cracked spark plugs or incorrect gap. Inspect for any kind of fouling on the spark plugs. Replace the spark plugs or the coils as needed.

2. Verify the wiring is not shorted to ground from the coils to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

3. Keep in mind that anything that can affect the air fuel mixture can cause this code to set. Be SURE that there are NO vacuum leaks, the injector is not at fault, etc. Moving parts one at a time (spark plug; coil; injector) to "known good" cylinders is the best way to diagnose this trouble code.

My 2006 Toyota Tundra's check engine light came on, the engine code gave me p2440. The truck had to power on the highway, reseting the computer fixed the problem temporarily, what should I do?

run the fault codes to find why the engine went into limp mode . to reset the light is not the answer as it may be over heating or low oil pressure all of which is bad news for the engine.

The trouble began by my van not shifting out of 2nd care... van had gone into limp mode. Shortly there after, the engine light came on and my van started to overheat. We ran the codes and got PO720,...

The codes you gave are:
P0720 = Output shaft speed sensor error P0731 = First gear incorrect ratio Replacing the Output shaft speed sensor should clear that up and help your transmission. Around $20 or so. The limp mode is probably caused by a faulty cam position sensor or crankshaft position sensor. Overheating: Did you verify that your cooling fan is coming on? Kicking into a higher speed with the A/C on? Thermostat of the correct heat range and installed with spring end into engine block? Coolant is not rusty looking or weak? (check specific gravity) Flush and refill system if not nice and green or orange/ is rusty looking. Water pump is circulating coolant properly? (open radiator and observe circulation, feel top hose for fluid surging) if not, bad pump. Any of those will cause overheating. Hope that helps! Please rate this answer.....Thanks, Mike

1996 dodge avenger when cold, the transmission go in limp mode

Is the vehicle's Check Engine Light on? It should briefly light up when you turn the key on (before you start the engine) to show that the light is working correctly. Based on what I've read I believe you should have one or more trouble codes. A place like AutoZone will read the trouble codes for you for free, and you can look them up here -
