Horn Honks when I turn the key and van does not start

I parked my 2007 Chevy Uplander in the driveway for winter, went out to start it for awhile and it wouldn't start, thought it was dead battery due to cold. Went out next day and before putting charger on it I turned the key again, this time the horn blew everytime I turned the key, no engine turnover, no click no nothing, just the horn blowing (scared the **** out of me the first time) I put the charger/starter on it to see what it said and it says the battery is charged, the computer in the dash says the battery is at 13.8 v too. I thought mouse or rabbit chewed on something, but then when I Googled the problem and I found someone with the exact vehicle and exact problem I'm thinking that it is not an animal of this World, but a Gremlin. Does anyone have any ideas at all?

SOURCE: Battery light stays on

Many possibilities but the alternator is a good place to start, if its plug is loose, then the green relay inside the center console just to the left and slightly in front of the emergency brake will be clicking in connecting and disconnecting the battery( one loud click per time). It will need replacing or simply disconnecting works for the short budget.

it sounds like your ignition switch could be bad, it is mounted on the steering column under the dash, it is the actual switch that activates the ignition and starter when you turn your key. if it is going bad it will give the same symptoms that you have described.

2009 pontiac montana won't start and the horn honks

Have a load test done on the battery as what you have said points top a bad battery cell. With the horn working the indication is that the voltage in the battery falls below that required for the alarm to work so it is reading it as someone stealing the battery and when you release the key the battery voltage is sufficient to turn the alarm back off.
