SOURCE: bad idle running when cold

The first thing I would do is a compression test, even if you just do that hole, after that, just put a new plug in because you already have the old one out. If you have decent compression (anything over 125psi) and the new spark plug doesn't solve the problem, I would be very suspicious of the injector. When the engine is cold, the fuel must be atomized really well to support combustion. Typically fuel injectors do a great job of this because they spray a fine mist into the port. This is what makes injected engines so nice to start and drive in the cold weather. However, if the injector gets fouled or plugged, it will squirt a thin stream that does not ignite well unless the engine is hot. Sound familiar?

SOURCE: stalls when warm , no start when warm

What you need to do is when it stalls out then check to see if your loosing fuel or spark.Check for spark at the spark plugs.don`t just check one.Check all the front 3 a least. If no spark then you probably have a bad ignition module. It is under the coils.Good luck.

What might be causing the problem listed below?

Could be bad ignition module as they have a low rpm section and a high rpm section. Low side may be failing as it heats up. Hard to test for this as parts store testers may not see the problem.

97 m3 bmw starts fine cold after warming up hard to start

it could be the starter, they can be affected by heat from being near exhaust components, or it could be the starter solenoid... also bad ignition timing could cause that

while motors warm up the computer supplies information so the motor works well. After it warms up the computer is guided by sensor information. It sounds like a sensor is going bad. Try to get a scanner reading which might show which sensor. The two main imputs to fuel are oxygen sensor and temperature sensor. Real common for O2 sensor to go bad.

i wouldn't be looking at the o2 sensors! look at the coolant temp sensor! when the car is cold it doesn't correct fuel & air ratio until it is warm so it is not looking at the o2's till then! if the sensor is bad and telling the computer it is warm when it is cold them it would be leaned out and run like that then when the car gets warm it's fine because the sensor is still saying it's warm! would be the opisite if it went bad and was telling the computer it was cold! that is a sure sign of the temp sensor being bad! good luck

Runs poorly while warming up

auto choke controled by the hot water system, sounds like someone has disconnected the pipes somewhere along the line as they were leaking,on or around the carb should be a round thing with two water pipes and inside is a bi-metal strip, which is most likely working but with no water through it or through the inlet manifold to preheat the petrol vapour hence your problem.soloution buy a small engined europen type vehiclelike a kangoo or berlingo and recycle the gas guzzler you have now.
