SOURCE: Imobilising car alarm on Hyundai Getz

it may be worth while changing the battery in the remote as it takes more power to send the frequency to disarm than to illuminate the l.e.d.

SOURCE: '03 Hyundai Elantra - Keyless entry remote not working

It wouldn't be the car battery, but since you just purchased the car, the dealership should correct the problem. Bring it to their attention right away. Did you get any kind of warranty? Most dealers have at least a 30 day warranty for things like this.

SOURCE: car alarm randomly goes off

there is a hood switch located at front passenger side under hood. check to make sure the plunger at hood is pushing the switch completely down. sometimes there may be just enough clearance that a strong wind will set the alarm off.

How to Program Keyless Entry Remotes in a Hyundai Sonata By Christian Killian, eHow Contributor
20Found This Helpful The keyless entry system in your Hyundai Sonata is part of the factory alarm system. If you have to replace a lost or damaged remote, reprogramming will be necessary. The remote is important because not only does it lock and unlock the doors, it also arms and disarms that factory alarm when you open or close your car doors. New remotes are available from any Hyundai dealer. While they will program it for you, you can do it yourself and save a programming fee.

Step 1: Locate the fuse panel under the dash on the driver's side of the car. Just below it is the control module for the factory alarm system. Open the cover on the alarm system control module and locate the memory switch inside.
(Kleophaus Livingston/Demand Media) Step 2: Verify that the switch is in the "Off" position; if it is not, switch it to the "Off" position. This is important for the system to understand what you want it to do when you move to the programming mode.

Step 3: Insert the key into the ignition of your Sonata and turn the key to the "On" position. Wait for 60 seconds, then move the memory switch inside the control module to "Set."
(Kleophaus Livingston/Demand Media) Step 4: Depress and hold the "Lock" button on your remote for one full minute. This allows the remote and the control module to communicate and sync. Release the "Lock" button and turn the memory switch in the control module back to the "Off" position.
(Kleophaus Livingston/Demand Media) Step 5: Turn the ignition switch to the "Off" position and test the remote by pressing the "Lock" or "Unlock" button, verifying that the doors do lock or unlock.

I am trying to program my new keyless remote for my 2007 Tahoe. I am to press vehicle info button until 'PRESS TO RELEARN REMOTE KEY' is displayed. This works. Next step is not working, and I...

When you are pressing the set/reset button are you pressing the one with the check mark. This process requires you to press two different buttons on the panel and then press the lock and unlock buttons on the key fob for about 15 seconds or until you hear a beep.

Random alarm, even when just locked and alarm not set, alarm will not set with remote on second click 2007 sonata lmtd

Go to http://www.hmaservice.com/ and register (vehicle by VIN). Afterward, you'll have access to technical information (manuals, wiring diagrams, service bulletins, etc) about your vehicle. OR, Take the vehicle into a Hyundai Service Center (dealership), pay the diagnostic fee. They will tell you EXACTLY what the problem is and what's needed to fix it (parts, labor, tax, time-frame, etc.). This way you will find out which parts, if any, you need to fix it - perhaps fix it yourself. OR, I've found the most probable cause (don't misunderstand me.. it could be something else) but I've found the 'Hood Switch" to be the most common cause. Try this, open the hood and locate the hood switch (right side toward front grille). Depress the switch all the way down, press the lock button on the keyless remote twice (just like you were locking the car (be sure all doors and trunk are closed when you do this). If the 'Answer Back" chirp/beep is heard, there's your problem. If it doesn't, it's probably something else and too little time/space here to explain the whole Electronic Time/Alarm & Control System (ETACS).

Alarm Issues

I have been having this same issue for the past 6 months. So far no one can give me an answer that solves the problem. I have done several things unsuccessfully 1) changed the battery (still happens) 2) flipped the valet toggle switch under the steering column (still happens) 3) I lock the doors using the automatic lock button on the driver and/or passenger door (the alarm will not self-activate and go off, but this still doesn't solve the root problem with the alarm)

Car Alarm/Door lock

This happened to me too...It turned out to be that my door was out of adjustment, which caused the door position sensor to not know whether the door is closed or open. Sometimes my light on the inside of the door would flash (because the car thought that the door was open). Once the alarm did activate, the car would sometimes think that the door had opened, thus causing the alarm to activate. It was cheap to have fixed...I think it was less than $100 at the dealership.
