Question about 2005 Mercedes-Benz Mercedes Benz SLK350
Engine turns over but will not start. Cannot hear the fuel pump run when I turn the key on. I am looking for steps to diagnose & fix issue.
Have you got access to a star?(merc diagnostic computer)
because that could really help you out.
i don't know how good your mechanical knowledge is but i would check the basics first, have you got fuel or a spark. if i were you i would pop the hood/bonnet, lift off your engine cover and air box with air filters intact and locate your fuel line feed (big silver braided hose) and use a 17mm spanner to open it and detach,be careful of fuel in the lines!!! open it slowly and make sure don't have anything close by that will ignite the raw fuel! with this done push the fuel line over in a safe direction with a collector bottle of some kind on the top and turn your key.you should have fuel coming up through that line in to your bottle,if you don't that rules out loads of possibilities and is probably your fuel pump.
if you don't get fuel coming up,try putting more fuel in your tank before you replace the pump as your fuel gauge may be faulty.you could have checked all this in the same time that it took my to type it out so it's worth giving it a go.best of luck and let me know how you get on

Yes you can. The bulb number is a "D2S" if you have the HID (High Intensity Discharge) bulbs. Most auto parts stores will need to order them but it should only take a day or two. O'Reilly Auto Parts shows the bulb costing 89.99. They are very expensive compared to the usual $10 bulbs on regular cars.
If you don't have the HID bulbs, yours is a halogen bulb. The bulb number is "H755". This one is the $10 bulb.
Double check which bulb you need before purchasing one! Most parts stores can tell you which bulb you need just by looking at the car's headlights.

hello, good day, first we are in fuel side, better to install a fuel gauge,to determine the right pressure, is not mention your fuel pump relay, this should also check, some occasion the power supply is missing, now if all is in order (fuel side) then your switching unit(transistor box) need tobe check, assuming your engine is 103 engine,ty

fuel pump relay behind plastic cover that is behind battery. there are 2 black relays ine is climate control and the other is fuel pump. the climate control will say klima on it. Bridge circuit 30(hot at all times) and circuit 87(consumer) with a fused wire and the vehicle should start if that is the problem. In all honesty it sounds like an ignition problem. I would remove the dist. cap if it is a cis. if it is electronic fuel inj. try wiggling the crank senser harnes and see if it starts. the early lh and hfm cars had major wireharness issues

Dealer only ,encrypted software ,start playing with it and?????? if anything goes wrong then factory immobilisor cuts in and it has to be connected to the internet via factory and it will not be released to start unless the bar code on the spare part box has been read by the operator with the bar code reader thats on the computer .This part is then recognised as the relevant fault code from the diagnostic check and with a genuine part for that fault code the computer releases the factory immobilisor.SO MUCH FOR THE AMERICAN FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT
