I have a 2003 kia sorento lx 3.5 v6. Car turns on Immediately but wont turn over to start

I guess you mean the dash lights up but the engine does not crank over at all. Turn on headlamps and try it. If lamps dim, can be bad battery connections, bad solenoid or starter. If lights do not dim, bad solenoid, ignition switch or starter solenoid wiring.

What does a diode look like in a 2003 kia sorento

In an alternator it is a round button pressed into the aluminium heat plate. Other diodes are lights (blubs) or electrical components in the circuitry.

YOU NEED A DIODE IF YOU REMOVE THE LEFT FRONT PANEL WHERE THE FUSES GO AND FOLLOW THE HARNESS BESIDE THE FUSE BLOCK YOU WILL FIND A LITTLE HARD SPOT IN THE HARNESS . MAKE AN INCISION IN THE INSULATION AND YOU WILL FIND A RECTANGULAR BLACK CONNECTOR POP THE CENTER OUT AND REMOVE YOU CAN JUMPER THE TERMINALS AND IT WILL COME ON . DEALER ONLY PART TELL THEM YOU NEED A DIODE IN THE HARNESS FOR OVERHEAD DOOR LIGHT CIRCUIT 100 PERCENT FIX GOOD LUCK

Dome lights don't come on when you open the doors but light works when you push button on dome.

The dome lamp has a switch that can be put into several positions. "Door" "Off" and "On" If you want the light to come on when you open the door then you must have the switch in the "Door" position.
The "Off" position will only let the dome lamp work when you override it with the dash control and the "On" position will leave the light on at all times - door open or not.

Hi,

The sorento clock, along with many other import vehicles of this era, have notorious issues with poorly designed circuit boards in the clock module. We fix these on a routine basis, check out the website, we have lots of info there and would be happy to help you out, thanks!

2004 kia sorento the dome light will not come on when the "door button" is pushed in or even with the "on button" pushed in. I took the cover off the overhead light above the driver's area and noticed 2...

The problem is the diode needs to be replaced. The dome light works in the "on" position, but does not work when any of the doors are opened. The diode itself is about half the size of a dime which you can buy from a kia dealer for less then $20. You don't have to disconnect the battery to do this.
1. Remove the kick panel which is right next to the foot rest on the drivers side and where the fuse box is located. You will have to pry open the door foot guard to get to the other screw for the kick panel.
2. right next to the fuses box there is a wiring harness wraped in black cloth like material or some type of harness cover, just peel it back or remove. You can feel the diode through the wrap.
3. the diode is in a sleeve like incasement or cover carefully pry open and slide the diode out.
4. replace diode with new one and your done.

Frequent headlamp replacement

Have your battery checked. A weak battery (Sorentos all have lousy stock batteries) may allow electrical spikes to blow lamps. Also make sure your battery cables are tight.

Note: The stock battery on 2003 and 2004 Sorentos V-6 models is a group 24. The group 34 battery is a better choice with more CCA and reserve capacity bit may require minor modifications to the battery tray or hold-down clamp.

Make sure you're using good quality headlamp bulbs. Auto-parts stores with lamps behind the counter are often higher quality than blister-pak lamps from Wally-World.

Dome light dosen't work the dioed needs replacing

The diode for the interior dome light is located behind the driver's side kick panel. You have to remove the kick panel or get access to the wires behind the panel. The diode is located in the wrapped wires just to the left of the fuse box area. When you feel around the wrapped wires with your fingers, you will feel a small hard rectangular plastic piece behind the tape wrapping the wires. Carefully cut the tape at the spot and locate the diode. Remove the diode and replace with a new one (about $13-18 at Kia dealer) and test. Retape with electrical tape and replace kick panel and you are done. About a 15 minute job.
