These are the steps i found for a 2001 to 2005 you may have to research a bit to make sure they are the same for a 2006 most auto stores will be able to tell you this but make sure u get a second opinion just to be safe

SOURCE: where is it located on engine
the crank sensor should be located on the left rear of the engine nearest the bell housing. the exciter ring is bolted on the end of the crankshaft inside the crankcase. holp this helps. cheers

SOURCE: my 2006 kia optima stalls
PCM? did they even check coil voltage? You are a coil on plug the coil plug may have shorted to ground there are times the valve cover enters the coil in the valve cover and oil soaks the boot causing stalls and jerks, I never heard a PMC stall and **** a car, you would be the first
