SOURCE: Im trying to replace a side view mirror and need

Hi,
The galant has sort of hidden screws. The door pull has little covers round in shape if they are not missing and behind them in the holes - DEEP are screws - one on each end of the door pull. Remove these and --
Around the edge of the door are plastic push pins that are semi forced into holes to hold the door panel tight. To get these to pull away - [ there is a tool for this ] - push your tool between the metal part of the door on the edge easiest to get to when the door is open - push and wiggle it until you can pull the tool toward you separating the door panel from the door frame. There are different models Galants so look for simple screws that may need to be removed too. Remove the door lock if need be to clear the panel then remove panel.
If you have a manual window crank - there is a tool for that too - to keep you from ripping your door panel when removing the handle. If you have this please get the tool and follow it's instructions.

Best of it - I hope this helps you fix your problem.

SOURCE: Outlander 2007 - i bought

  • Hi, I can help.

  • Open the door and look on the inside of the door where the mirror mounts from the outside. Often times Mitsubishi's mirror access panel is behind a corner of the door panel and it is just a little corner piece that pops off.
  • Follow these steps ---
  1. You will either see some screws right away or a little panel that will have a screw to remove (some of then you just gently pry off with a flat tool. If no screws the gently pry off.)
  2. Now you will see a wire harness that is coming down from the mirror. Gently lift it up until the connect is reached.
  3. Remove the connector and don't let it drop down. Anchor with a little duck tape.
  4. Now you will see three nuts that need to be removed ( I think 13mm ).
  5. Make sure you support the mirror as you are removing the last bolt.
  6. Now wiggle and jiggle the mirror out and pay attention so the harness comes out freely with it.
  7. It's a basic reversal to install the new mirror.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here and I will respond to you.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Regards, Tony

2003 mitsubishi outlander mirror removal

I don't own an Outlander but going by Pajero I suspect it is similar. On the inside of the door you might see a plastic triangle which covers the screws securing the mirror through the door frame. Gently pry away this plastic part (or unscrew, I don't know), then you will see the fastenings of the mirror base. Also you will find an electric connector. First separate the connector(s) if possible, then unscrew the mirror base. If you don't see the connector, the cable of the mirror may be routed downwards behind the inner door cover, there you go.
Note of caution: Never understimate car designers, the solutions they find to hide fastenings are sometimes "outlandish".

Describe how to change the passenger mirror on a 2007 Toyota Sien

Hi, First remove the door panel. (The connector for the mirror is behind the panel just to the left of the door handle.) The arm rest cover pops off by gently prying upward at the corners near the door panel and along the outer edge of the arm rest. Then remove the 2 screws. Remove the screw that holds the door handle bezel on. Remove the little plastic plug to the left of the door handle as well. This reveals yet another screw to remove. Now you can gently pull the door panel away from the door. The little plastic clips will pop out of the door. If they come away from the door panel they easily fit back in place in the metal retainers built into the door panel. You can now disconnect the connector and remove the 3 10mm mirror bolts.
With respect to the door handle bezel on the inside of the door, to remove it you must pull/slide the bezel away from the door hinge. It should move an 1/8 to 1/4 inch. There is a little tab that hooks inside the door handle mechanism and two small holes, top and bottom, that slip over little pegs on the mechanism. I broke this tab while removing the bezel on my car. This was the most difficult part, on my car, to remove.
Take care

How to replace mirror on 2008 ford explorer

Remove front door inside handle bezel. It should snap off waway from the door. Remove the screws behind bezel. Remove the screws on the bottom of the main door trim panel. DO NOT PULL OUTWARD ON THE DOOR PANEL OR IT WILL BRAKE!! Remove the door panel by lifting the pael upward. at this point you ay have enough room to access the 3 nuts behind the mirror and te mirror electrical connector. If there is not enough room then you will have to disconect the electrical connectors and the door handle linkage on the door panel. if there is eonough room for you then disconect the mirror electrical connector first then remove the 3 nuts behind the miror. the mirror should just pull strait away from the door. Reverse this proceadure to install new mirror. This is the same for left or right side.
