2006 Cobalt 2.2 litre has check engine light come on, then "engine disabled"


That code dsoesn't 100% mean the sensor is defective, other factors can set it. See list below.
Possible causes- Camshaft Position Sensor harness is open or shorted
- Camshaft Position Sensor circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Camshaft Position Sensor
- Faulty starter motor
- Starting system circuit
- Dead (Weak) battery

2006 cobalt 54000 miles I had trouble starting and when it did the check engine light is blinking and it sputters bad even worse when I push the gas pedal


DID YOU REPLACE AIR FILTER AT 25000 MILES FUEL SYSTEM NEED SERVICED AT 25000 MILES ALSO PROBLEM COULD BE STOPPED UP FUEL FILTER OR FAULTY ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR OR WATER IN GAS CAUSE ENGINE RUN ROUGH. .HAVE VECHICLE SCANNED FIRST. BEFORE BUYING NEW PARTS. HAVE FUEL SYSTEM SERVICE CLEAN FUEL INJECTORS ALSO.

2006 Chevy Cobalt. My power steering goes out.


It sounds like the power steering motor is overheating pre maturely. Changing the motor should take care of the problem. What really happens is the motor reports to the power steering module that it is over heating and the module is shutting power to the motor down, the motor is actually no overheating.

When should I replance the transmission fluid of my 2006 Cobalt LS it has 68,000 miles on it already.


Transmission should have been service at 45,000 miles then every 60,000 miles after that. This will ensure a long lasting transmission, if you like you can also have your boost valve replaced too. The boost valve regulates the transmission fluid pressure to ensure there is no clutch slipping through out the shift points, which promotes longer life. Transmission shop's know this, so this is one of the things they do not recommend to do as for the transmission will out last the engine. I have over 385,000 miles on my transmission and replace the boost valve every second transmission service, the cost of the new valve is around $45.00 which is worth the life of the transmission. 2006 cobalt overheating while IDLE


go ahead and have the thermostat and the thermostate switch replace since its giving you a sign, you don't want to have it overheat and leave you stranded or ruin the motor. the fans seem to work fine since you can hear and see it running.

2006 Chevy Cobalt 79,000 miles. rough idling, occassional stall.


CALL A CHEVY DEALER, ASK THEM FOR A VIS SEARCH OF YOUR CAR, THEY WILL NEED THE VIN NUMBER. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE FUEL INJECTORS FOR THE 2006 COBALT.

Annual maintenance


The only other things would be to check the air & cabin filters to make sure they're still clean enough. The scheduled maintenance on those is 50,000 miles.

I have a cobalt too. I have been researching the hell out of these cars. I am not impressed. Too many problems at very little kilometers. I was wondering how bad it gets at 88,000 kilo.Your lucky you got that far.These are the problems I come up with.
Faulty electric power steering
Faulty ignition problems
Faulty steering shafts and components
faulty stabilizer mounts
Numerous electrical problems
Poor gas milage
FaultyFuel injector rail( no more room to write)
