Car alarm keeps honking wont stop, car also will not start

Tried to start the car and it barely turned over & then died. Immediately following that the car alarm started going off & then would stop. About 1 min later alarm would go off again & stop again. We tried jumping the battery thinking that was the problem. Car wouldnt turn over for the longest time and then it started right up after having the cables on for awhile. Immediately after it started running the alarm(honking) started and wouldnt stop. Ive had this car for 5 yrs and have never ever heard the alarm once. I figured it didnt even have one! Help please!! Is there a way to disable the alarm? I dont even know how to access it and the manual literally says not a word about anti theft system or even alarm

SOURCE: Car turns over but won't start

one thing you need to remember.... as it gets colder (that's not cold yet) the battery gets less efficient as the demand for more power increases with the starter. were you able to start it by boosting it.... also what weight motor oil is in it. 30 to 50 weight oil turns to the consistency of molasses in cold weather.

SOURCE: car keeps dying

Get someone to change your alternator just a cheap one from the wreckers. or if you don't want it to happen again get a reconditioned one. They are easy to change over.

Unfortunately, the keyless entry remotes and OE systems usually require a dealership to service them. Sounds to me like they need to re-set the alarm

Alarm went off and now car won't start.

You are most likely correct, it probably has an alarm. Unfortunately, most alarm systems are connected to the remote that is broken. You should have to have your dealership get you a new remote for the vehicle.

1996 vw jetta alarm wont stop honking and wont start

Obviously you have a car alarm (do you?)
If until now was OK, then you have some problem with the alarm.
Try to disarm it and see what is happening.
Good Luck.

The battery died on my 03 diamante. when i tried to recharge it the car alarm started and wont stop to allow the car to keep a charge?

Only Recharge the Battery with both the Cables: Positive and Negative removed from the Battery.
With the Charger OFF the Battery - Reset your Alarm turning it OFF.
Then Disconnect the Battery completely.
Never Recharge a Battery while it is still connected.

Kia Rio 1.5 diesel Factory alarm, car horn honking, side indicators flashing, unable to start the car. When I arm the car with the fob and unlock the door with the key then open the door the horn starts...

The fob is infamous for its battery life. It gets drained so quickly that there happens to be a little later when the fob is very close to the door lock, ignition & unnecessary triggers the alarm due to low reception as the battery of the fobs discharges very fast, depending on the model, which has a certain virtual sheild(STARTRECK type) which is triggered by the fobs strength of the signal(radi waves).

Why not try a new set of batteries for your fob?? .................................sodeep

Car alarm goes off for no reason

I had this same problem just today.Hhowever, I had the remote in my hand and it would not stop the honking!. Since I could get into the car, I released the hood, opened the master fuse box on the left side, and pulled the fuse labeled "Horn Relay".(On the upper left, there are three large, black, square fuses, it is the third and is labeled in the lid). I waited ten seconds and put the fuse back in, no more alarm, no more infernal honking.

Car wont start or take boost

Sounds like your battery has a dead cell. The cranking amps required to start a vehicle is considerably more than to power accessories. The alarm may have a safety feature that will make it go off if the battery voltage is too low (or if someone disconnects your battery). Have your battery tested (with and without a load) and repost if this isn't the problem.

I was in the store the other day & the alarm went off on my 97 acura tl 3.2 . When I came out the store everything had died out including the battery which was already weak. I put a new battery in...

yes the starter is not getting the required pressure to start the car.as when you insert the key in ignition module the car gives command to the starter and car cranks and throw pressure to the alternater and that throws pressure with current to the sparkplugs and the spark comes and car gets started.as its the faulty wiring that gor misallighned and short circuited.as the wiring has to be checked at each point and that has to be cleared.also check out starter solenoid with starter .solenoid is located in the starter unit.
thanks.
please do rate the solution.thank you for using fixya.keep updated.
